How do I set a search criteria so that my search results are only from the list of dictionaries and encyclopedias rather that commentaries? I want to store this search for repeat use. I am on the Mac version.

welcome to the forum!
you need to create a Collection for your dictionaries & encyclopedias. Then you can use that collection in your Search. Saving your search may have problems, as Logos4 has a bug with saved searches (it does not remember which resources that you were searching in).
To learn about Collections see this wiki page Collections, also see this wiki page for examples of Collections: Collection Examples.
Saving a search can be done by Hyperlinks or Favorites.
EDIT: to use your collection, you will need to use Basic search method.
