Syntax Search Bug/Behavior–Is this normal?

Unfortunately, I am kind of in a hurry so I have not done an extensive search of the archives (but I have looked), but I have a question re: the syntax searches.
It has been a bit since I needed to do one, and when I did I was using a Windows 7 machine and it worked well. I had remembered though that there had been quite of bit of progress on the Mac side too.
On the current beta, I am unable to use most of the checkmarks. For example, if I have a clause function item selected, I am not able to choose subject, predicate, etc. It momentarily checks the box and then unchecks it. Also the diagram is not updating as I add to the syntax search.
Forgive me if these is blatantly obvious in some release notes somewhere but I did a quick look and could find anything that mentioned these limitations.
Thanks for all the work.

I can confirm the issue with the check boxes.

This is an old issue that I thought had been fixed in a previous beta. I too have not needed to run a syntax search in a long time, so memory may be fooling with me. However, I am sure that this behavior existed before as I long ago reported it. When you click on the + symbol of a syntax element any pick another element from the pop-up list to add to the search parameters the new element does not display. However, the right hand column of choices for that element does. If one closes then re-opens the syntax search window it does, then, appear.
