how do I make URL Links work in an email?

I am sure I am missing something simple here, but how do I send someone a link to a specific location in a logos resource that we both have?  When I copy and past the URL into Word or into my Outlook email, it doesn't copy as a hyperlink, but only as regular text.  When I copy and paste it here on the forum, however, it pastes in as a blue underlined hyperlink as I wanted in my email:

logosres:lectrevrelgn;ref=Page.p_32;off=177

What am I doing wrong here?  Why can't I get it to paste in as a hyperlink in my email?

The forum has special software in it that recognizes the logosres: protocol and converts it to a link automatically. To make it a link in Word or an email message, first paste that text in, then select it, press Ctrl+K, and paste it into to edit box that comes up, and click OK. This should work in Outlook anyway, especially if you've got Outlook 2007 or later. If you're using a different email program, the way of inserting a link might be different, but look for a link icon on the toolbar (e.g., imageor image) or a Link command on the Insert menu, or something like that.

When I copy and past the URL into Word or into my Outlook email, it doesn't copy as a hyperlink, but only as regular text.

    1. In your Logos4 resource, click on the icon to open the resource's menu.

    2. In the drop down menu click on URL to have Logos4 copy a link to the resource into the clipboard.

    3. In Word, type in your text.

    4. Drag your mouse over the text that you want to create into a link. Then right click on the selected text.

    5. In the pop-up menu, click on Hyperlink. Word will open the below window.

    6. Click in the Address box and then paste your link (Ctrl V).

    7. Now click the OK button.

    8. Notice that your selected text has become a hyperlink.

    9. Now save your Word document to a file.

    10. Now attach your Word document to your email.

It is more reliable to use a Word document to send links to Logos4 resources as those who receive your email may be using Yahoo or Gmail email clients. They can extract the attached Word document and then use the hyperlinks in the Word document to open your Logos4 links.

EDIT: ahh, Rosie beat me to it. i had a blue screen of death interrupt me while composing this reply.
