Update Error

I just installed the latest Logos software version Silver (KF) from Silver (LE) and upon installing Logos 4 into my Applications folder noticed that when I opened the program it downloaded a software update.

Upon obtaining the update I received notification that Logos wanted to update the software and I followed the prompts to update.

When the installer extracted and updated it stopped and displayed the message:

Update Error!

An error occurred while installing the update. Please try again later.

I have tried several times, but I still seem to be geting the same error.

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Log files show current Logos 4 Mac stable version (4.0b SR-4), but nothing for installation error.

Wonder about restarting Mac - watch for Blue Logos icon to appear in Menu bar - after Blue Logos icon disappears, launch Logos - try searching entire library for Logos, if 0 results (nothing found), please close Logos 4 Mac and post new set of log files.

Observation: package upgrade from LE to KF has some resources to download and install.

I restarted the Mac and the LogosInstaller ran asking me that it wanted to install the update. I did so and it began extracting the update presenting me with the "Install and Relaunch" window. After clicking that button it immediately popped up with the "Update Error!" screen.

It only have me the option to cancel the update. After clicking this button I then quit the Logos Installer program and then went and copied the log files and they are attached.

You need to copy the log files prior to restarting Logos as they will be overwritten when L4 starts. See the second link in my signature for a utility that automates much of the process of gathering logs.

Puzzled by Installer "upgrade" attempt (attack) to an older version - suggest calling Logos 1-800-875-6467 (open Mon - Fri from 6 am to 5 pm Pacific Time).

While Logos4.log file is same as previously posted, Indexer.log file contents changed - includes couple unusual messages at top and bottom:

"disk1" unmounted.

"disk1" ejected.

. . .

2011-02-07 21:28:19.603 Logos4Installer[262:903] Sparkle Error: An error occurred while installing the update. Please try again later.

2011-02-07 21:28:19.606 Logos4Installer[262:903] Sparkle Error (continued): Sparkle Updater: Possible attack in progress! Attempting to "upgrade" from 49457 to 48259. Aborting update.

I've Zapped the current installation of Logos on my Mac and reinstalling it, but unfortunately the LogosInstaller still pops up with it wanting to update the software.

One thing I have just realised and I don't know if this is important or not, but I've noticed in my orders that I purchased a Silver (KF) upgrade package... I actually removed my current installation of Logos PRIOR to installing the upgrade.

Do you think this has caused the problems?

One thing I have just realised and I don't know if this is important or not, but I've noticed in my orders that I purchased a Silver (KF) upgrade package... I actually removed my current installation of Logos PRIOR to installing the upgrade.

KF package upgrade affects resources (e.g. add NIV 2011 version to older LF packages), should not affect Logos Bible Software version.

Thanks for your help with uninstalling.

I was able to uninstall everything and reinstall everything (it took a little while due to the library updates), but since everything has now been updated I seem to have no "update error" problems anymore.
