transfering logos to my laptop

I know this is probably a simple question; but I bought a new laptop and I need to put my logos on it. How do I transfer from my PC to my laptop

I would use the second method on this page

I have used it several times

One option is installing Logos 4, sign-in, download all resources and sync'd information. Wiki has links to Logos 4 installers => http://wiki.logos.com/Installation_and_Indexing_FAQ's
Wiki has quick installation tips => http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers

Given the success of this method, why isn' t it supported by Logos? And how can we direct newbies to the Wiki, if it is not supported in toto?
(BTW, Nicky, I am so glad it worked for you! Someday, I will have to do this, too. Did you get your Kindle?)

This method was something that was developed by a user Dave Hooton (got the spelling right this time Dave[:)]) and not by the Logos team. I think (and I am speculating) that because they did not develop it they do not want to put their seal on it. However I can tell you that I use it each time an updated stable release (sometimes a release candidate) comes out as I keep a stable release on my netbook. I have never had a problem with this method.

It would also be harder for them to troubleshoot it for you if something went wrong on your end due to user error. If they know for sure that you got all your files directly from their servers and yet something still went wrong, then it's pretty likely their fault and they can fix it. I don't think they've ever actively dissuaded people from using this method, though.

That makes sense

I don't recall seeing anything from Logos that discourages the use of this method either.

yes, and now I'm gradually working out how to get my resources on it in a comfortably usable form. Have downloaded Calibre, but have yet to start using it. Have also got a convertible notebook/tablet, which is also taking some getting used to, but is good on train journeys. I loved the iPad of the guy sitting next to me at a conference session, but then read about the doubts as to whether it will continue to let its users use the Logos App, so they have lost a prospective customer unless and until they get their act together. My hostess is impressed by my initiative in adapting to new technology. I'm somewhat horrified by my extravagance, but I am actually using the stuff.

You are adaptable! I hope you enjoy reading on the Kindle. My goal seems to continue to be to actually do more reading and studying the Word than setting up, maintaining files, learning how to use and just keeping up with technology. [8-|]

Tech Support have used a variation of Method 2, but the user feedback shows that they leave out what to do if the resources are not recognised ie. the scan step.
PS, thanks for spelling my name correctly[:D]
