Markers in Scroll Bars

I'm curious to know how the "markers" in the scroll bar that show where else in a text you have been (not bookmarks) can be reset or "erased."
Any help will be very much appreciated.

The 'wear marks' in the scrollbar indicate where you have been. A different color indicates search results (if you have a search open.)
AFAIK, you can't reset/erase them. You can turn them off under Tools | Program Settings, e.g. Show Auto and Favorite Bookmarks and Show Search Boomkarks.
