visual filter causes black screen

I have created a visual filter that shows the various Greek verb tenses but when I have it active every time I do anything (even click on the visual filter menu to turn it off) I get a black not responding screen for several seconds.  Is there any way to get this filter working without the black screen problem?

Can you give us a screen shot of the filter? Very complex filters, or filters that use wildcards will cause this behaviour. Maybe the filter can be simplified.

Black in Logos is usually the symptom of the graphics card not being able to keep up with the demands being placed on it.

Do you have integrated or discrete graphics? How much memory do you have? Check to see if there are new graphics drivers for your PC, it might help.

This is a very complex filter, for two reasons:

    • Virtually every verse is going to have a filter applied.
    • You're inserting images before every word. This means the text has to 're-flow' in order to make space for the image. The shadows will also slow down screen drawing speed slightly.

The combination of these two complexities is going to make the filter slow to calculate, which is what I suspect is causing the black screen. I would suggest creating a copy of this filter using colour coding instead of images to see if that makes a difference.
