There are parts of this suggestion that I consider bugs or oversights but since my ideas of design and testing are not identical to Logos' idea of design and testing, I think a request is a more effective way to go. So on uservoice, vote for:
Improve clippings (& notes) for searching
Clippings need the same expand/contract capability as notes.
When doing a search that includes clippings (or notes), the search should return with the matched items expanded.
Both notes and clipping should support mytag; a search on mytag should result in matching tags being highlighted.
