I'd like my desktop Logos to be as fast as library.logos.com in beta mode

I really like http://library.logos.com/?beta=true
It's fast. The desktop version uses "real" windows with columns, etc. But the speed is much different. Perhaps the only thing to be ported across the OSes is the Logos server engine. And everywhere, a browser could be used as an interface :-)
P.S.: Does anybody remember a browser-based Britannica Encyclopedia 1997 which worked in Netscape as if there were a web server running in Windows 95/98?

Perhaps, you have twice RAM on your PC and your Internet is twice slower than mine :-)

The relevant quote.
Bob Pritchett said:The ?beta=true version was test to see if
we could (or should) re-create the whole Logos 4 UI in a browser. (The
answer: no, and no.)I don't think we can ask that the speed of a UI talking to a server and a desktop that does everything on its own to be comparable. Now, as the power of commercially available PCs increases I think we'll this these performance problems greatly reduced.
