We Need The Ability to Activate Logos 3 Resources Within Logos 4 Easily

I'm sitting here with a disk full of Logos 3 resources that have not been activated yet. As far as I understand, I have to install Logos 3, go through a tedious activation process, sacrifice a chicken, then sync it all over the internet with Logos servers before I can get these resources into my Logos 4 installation.

Unless I'm just missing how to do this completely in Logos 4, the people at Logos need to do one of two things:

1. Prominently display the information on how to do this within Logos 4.

2. Or program a feature within Logos 4 where you can enter your own serial numbers so Logos 4 will download the resources from the servers or the disk in question.

I just can't understand why such a basic and useful feature isn't in Logos 4. It would just be good sense to make this automatic within Logos 4, instead of having customers go through a series of annoying installations, or just placing the burden on Logos customer service to do all this.

Things like this (http://community.logos.com/forums/t/28071.aspx) just shouldn't be an issue.

It is probably too late tonight (maybe not if you hurry), but with a serial number LOGOS can activate your products on line - thus allowing you to download from Logos servers into L4. A call to Logos customer service can accomplish this relatively quickly.

I just reinstalled Logos 3 and did it that way. The process is annoying, and I think it should be less of a hassle. That's all.

If it was necessary to reinstall L3, it would be too much of a hassle. However, I recently purchased an L3 resource, called Customer Service, and had it in my library is less than one hour from the time I pulled the package out of my mailbox.

Though the solution is simple - part of the problem may be that the solution is not obvious. Greg had seen it in the old thread, but it may have occurred after he had done the install of L3. I know that others, in the past, have asked for a simple way to enter serial numbers for L3 resources.

Although that will work, it is not the real solution to what should have been a built-in process of Logos 4. If you could activate a product in L3 by entering the product serial number, customer ID, and a confirmation code, Logos should have allowed this in L4.

The better solution, especially for those who can't call Customer Service for whatever reasons, is either:

1) Add to L4 the ability to activate a product from CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, or

2) Build a webpage that allows a user to enter the product serial number, the customer ID (email address used to log into L4), and the credit card used to purchase the product (or some other Logos 4 customer code). Then, once these credentials are authenticated, the product is activated and the user can download the product.

No need to have Customer Service involved. And of course, all transactions are encrypted over the Net.

How about it, Logos? Up to the challenge of providing customer service even outside of business hours?

I think these are good options. I remember reading from Bob recently that each support call costs Logos a certain amount of money. If this cost can be bypassed with a one time feature implementation, why not do it?

I agree it would be much nicer if Logos provided a way to activate L3 products from within L4, ideally with just entering the product code and not even having to bother with the CD at all (it should be able to be downloaded).

I just received my CDs for The Ultimate Archaeology Collection in the mail. I attempted to install them:

A couple of them appeared to install and actually show up in my Libronix 3.0g Account Summary.
The rest do NOT install, nor ask for the install codes.
Running setup.exe does nothing but open Libronix.
I have no clue how to force an activation code entry.
Sometimes I get the message box on the bottom right of the screen saying "Some of your resources are being accessed from CD, Use Location Manager to install to the hard drive."
Location Manager tells me I already have all unlocked resources on my hard drive.
I manually moved the Locked Resources on to the hard drive but cannot access them
NONE of the resources show in my library searches. And yes, I did sync my licenses with the server and close and restart the program several times.

It is really annoying to have a nice bundle of resources I can not access until next week!

Running Windows 7 Ultimate and Libronix 3.0g on the same drive my Logos 4.0 is residing on.

I forgot how I handled this snafu with a previous purchase. Any hints?

Logos has a record of all my purchase from them. Surely they can activate it so that users like won't have to wrestle with its activation. Logos software should be a tool to help us minister better, not a time waster.

I had no problem unlocking the two L3 resources I had that hadn't been previously activated by calling up Customer Service. That being said, what I'd like to see is the listing of those resources on my Logos account page in the orders section. Not a huge deal, but would be nice.

Curious about a screenshot showing need to purchase L3 resource again.

Logos.com has an orders page for your account (Edit: for purchases from Logos.com) => https://www.logos.com/user/orders with "Downloadable Libronix Files" section (bottom of page), which cab be used to update Libronix 3 configuration: can click on order #, then click "Download Instructions for Previous Versions", followed by clicking "Unlock" to download a Libronix update script (running script unlocks resource(s) plus downloads them).

Thankful for Logos 4 "update resources" command (or wait after purchase for automatic update, often after restarting Logos 4).

Logos does NOT have a record of our purchase on our accounts page if it was done from a non-Logos source (Christian bookstore, site that causes you to rejoice, etc.)

They do, however, have a record of our license ONCE we activate the resource, so all consecutive reinstalls are automatic.

I believe activating via MyAccount in Logos is the best solution for L3 resources.
