Background:
- from Wikipedia: "Although Wycliffe's Bible had preceded the Protestant Reformation, England was actually one of the last countries in Europe to have a printed vernacular Bible." I did not know this which has interesting historical and apologetic applications.
- fgh's comment regarding the Briggitine Office led me to the Lollard Bible which I don't recall hearing of previously
- I've always felt that the Logos English Bible timeline is misleading because it omits old and middle English and is not labeled "Modern English Bibles" - you can't have it both ways. In L3 I corrected the problem by building my own timeline.
Solution:
Logos should provide timelines that are complete for the Bible translations - at least for those languages in which they publish Bibles ... even if we, as users, have to collect the information. Or does someone know a source that does provide the information?
P.S. There is also the parallel issue of Jewish translations - anyone knowledgeable there?
