...it's actually only $49.95 off the regular price. I guess the inflated retail price makes it possible to advertise ultra-amazing deals like that. Too bad. I really wanted this one...
I think this is true for all of the deals.
Oh, I didn't realize that...not the twitter type, just noticed the "deal" here on the forums.
It's still a better deal than my sales rep could offer me (I always ask, because sometimes the great "sale" prices are actually not as good as what I could get through him), so I went ahead and ordered it.
It is not just through twitter that advertise discounts based on the inflated "retail price". I cannot recall any Logos sale where the % off was not advertised that way.
Strange how when I go to the Lange's page, it says it is 48% percent off at $299, and yet with the now discount it is supposed to be %50 off at $250! ?
Current (Logos normal) price of $299 is indeed 48% off retail ((580-299.95)/580 = 0.483), assuming the retail price is 580 as it is listed there
Twitter sale price of $250 was actually 57% off retail, not 50% ((580-299.95)/580 = 0.569); so yes, that was evidently an error in the tweet
It's a moot point, though. The Twitter sale is over now; it ended at midnight Bellingham time (about 5-1/2 hours ago). If you click on any of those links on Twitter you get to a page with a coupon code already entered in, but the coupon has no effect on the price. The coupons are all expired.
Thanks Rosie for the stats. I knew something was fishy.
