Scripture Memory App
There are a few Bible Memory Apps in the App store. I was looking for some feedback from folks who may have used them or are currently using them. Any suggestions? Strengths, Weakness, etc... Seems like they would be helpful in committing the Scriptures to memory.

I use an app called “flashcards.” Its not specifically for scripture memory, but that’s mostly what I use it for. You can build different “card decks” for different topics, and you can include pictures (audio too I think). Really a great memory tool. My favorite thing about it is I can type up a card deck on my computer and transfer it over to my iphone so I don’t have to type on the tiny keyboard.
I think the best iPhone app in the market is Bible Memory. Not to be confused with Bible Memory Verses. This app is one of the more expensive ones, but it is worth every penny. It has lot's of great built in share features as well. You can share verses you memorized with loved ones or friends via email or Facebook...at the touch of a button. Very cool!
It isn't in the app store yet as I'm still waiting permission from Crossway to include the ESV text, but I've an app in the works that follows the P2R memorization method proposed by Timmy Brister, useful to help when trying to memorize books of the Bible (or any other text, for that matter).
I put together some screenshots and demo vid for the Crossway folks so you can get a sneak peek at it. Nothing fancy, but hopefully helpful for some. Right now just in limbo as I wait for Crossway.
There are several apps that use a memorization technique where you can ask for a hint to reveal the first letter or each word in the verse you are trying to memorize. I think this makes it much easier to memorize verses.
Try these two apps:
Bible Verses: It's a little slow to load but has a lot of features
Daily Proverb: This uses the feature I was talking about but only shows verses from the book of Proverbs.

I realize that this conversation happened months ago, but I have been using Remember Me (the android version) and it is great. Here's the ios link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/remember-me/id504171445?mt=8
Try ScriptureTyper. I think this app has come out since this thread. I just found it this week, and I think it's incredible in terms of importing verses with ease, cloud backup for syncing with multiple devices, recording audio of reading the verses, quizzing, reviewing etc.! Check it out at:

I agree with Stuart's choice/recommendation. [Y]
Hello everyone! I'm thrilled to share an incredible Bible memorization app that I believe you'll find truly exceptional. It's called Remember Me, and it's the world's leading Bible memorization tool, boasting over 2.2 million downloads!
What's particularly impressive is that it's entirely free, open-source, and free from ads or limitations.
Some of the outstanding features include:
There's so much more to discover! I genuinely believe it could be a game-changer for anyone seeking to memorize Scripture effectively and enjoyably.
If you're interested in learning more, you can find all the details and download the app at https://www.remem.me . I encourage you to give it a try!

This thread is more than a decade old. I use Anki for many things but not for verse memorization. Try the memorization function within Logos first so you have a good sense of what you need for memorization.
@Peter Schafflützel are you sure it is appropriate to suggest competing products on a company's forums

Thank you for sharing your perspective, @MJ. Smith. While I understand your concerns, I see Remember Me as a complementary app to Logos rather than a replacement. Since Logos currently doesn't offer verse memorization functionality in its mobile app, Remember Me fills that gap nicely. You can easily share Bible passages from Logos to Remember Me for memorization purposes, allowing users to leverage both apps' strengths. This combination provides a more comprehensive Bible study and memorization experience.
Any recommendations??
I'm hoping for some recommendations...
I've been eyeing up Verseminder - Topical Memory System (from Nav Press), 100 Bible Verses (based on Robert Morgan's book "100 Bible Verses Everyone Should Know) by Lifeway, MemoryVerses by Lifeway, Bible Memory Verses by Woody Hays, and Verse By heart.
That's what I've been looking at and hoping to get some feedback on one of these or another Bible Memory App that Logos users might be using.

Hi Chris,
I just bought Verseminder from NavPress and like it so far. I like that I can add my own verses to it as well as have the initial set of verses which are part of the TMS. I have tried a few other scripture memory programs, but this one seems to work well for me. It offers both flash card mode and fill in the blank mode to aid in your memory work. I haven't fully figured out all of the nuances of the program, but it is simple, effective and flexible. It fills my needs for a program.
Jim
Thanks James. I like the TMS and was interested in that App because of that. I'm glad to know you can add in your own verses. I am reading Robert Morgan's "100 verses..." and that app is a little interesting because of the fact I'm reading the book. However, it has limited translations (2 I believe) where the VerseMinder seems to have more (5 I believe) - including the ESV.

TruthPacker. Comes with several topically organised memory verses, or you can create your own lists. simple to add. Add mark when you reviewed verse, verses can be read outload, several translations to choose from, add the reference and it will add the verse. No need to type out the verse as with some other apps

The P2R app will have an update soon expanding the use of the ESV to include more books of the Bible from the ESV, and a new feature that lets you specify a difficulty level to hide words in the passage:
If you can't remember a word, just tap it and it will be revealed.
