BASIC search totally distinct from BIBLE search

I don't know if there has been any discussion on this so here goes...

I use the Bible search to search within the Scriptures and I use the Basic search to scan my other books.

From one of the forum posts, I learned how to create a "My Library ANDNOT type:bibles" Collection which is very useful. This allows me to search my entire Library w/ out getting Bible references. This is great when I only want to search my Library books ... and it accomplishes a BASIC search. When I want to do a Bible search, I use the option under BIBLE.

However, if we do not search ENTIRE LIBRARY, some content will be missing. Logos is designed (if I am not mistaken) to do certain additional compilations in this kind of search that would not show up when searching a more restricted portion of the Library. For one example, I believe that My Content will not be there unless one does a search of Entire Library. There may be a few other features that would be omitted, but I can't think of them now. But there ARE timeswhen I might want to get more while searching through (and scrolling through) less.

It seems to me that having a BASIC search category that searches Entire Library (without Bibles) would be more precise. And then only if you wanted to do a comprehensive Entire Library search, perhaps there could be a check box that includes your Bibles. In this way your searches are more streamlined and you get all the content too.

I think the problem here is not that a basic search includes your Bibles (which as you said, you can create a collection to overcome). The problem is (as you rightly say) that when you're searching a collection, you don't get the topic and user content searches. I first complained about this probably about a year ago, because it makes no sense to me, either.

There is one reason to search Bibles with a Basic search. Both Bible and Morph search are restricted by verse boundaries. If you want to search for things across verse boundaries you need to use a Basic search.

However, I would love to see a way to just search my content w/o doing an entire library search.
