Does Logs 4.2a continue indexing even after the icon has disappeared? When I do a basic search it says "Some search results may be missing or incorrect while your library is being indexed" and yet the icon on the bottom right of my computer is gone.
Bill,
I've not seen that. It may be that Windows "hid" the icon, if you look at the system tray there is a tiny arrow which will expand the system tray if you click it. The icon may be in that hidden area.
If it is not, it is an interesting case indeed. I don't suppose you have logging enabled to you? If so uploading the logs may reveal something.
No, Thomas, it's not in the Systems Tray. Last night the entire indexing process appeared to finish [and the icon was appearing at that time]. I have not enabled logging. [In fact, I forget how to do it. Do you press Ctrl while opening Logos 4?] Thanks for your response.
I too, had an issue immediately after the icon disappeared. I started the process early so I was still awake when it finished (at least the icon was gone). When I tried to get on the internet, my computer was very slow for about 7 or 8 minutes. Usually indexing does not cause much of a slow down on my computer. I opened task manager and Logos Indexer was not running, my first thought was that the indexer would be the culprit. Within a few minutes everything was normal. I thought it might have just been "one of those things" and forgot about it until I read your post.
They might be completely unrelated but I thought that I would share in case others start seeing things like this.
Yes, Pressing CTRL during loading is one method, as well as a permanent method that leaves logging always on: (http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging)
The problem is that logging won't start until the next start of the processes. So they won't catch what's currently going on. This is one reason why I just leave logging always on.
Thanks, Thomas. I have permanently enabled logging for Logos 4. I believe, however, that the indexing is continuing - based on the notification I receive when I do a Basic Search.

It could be that indexing should be continuing, but the indexer has crashed or terminated for some unknown reason.

Thanks Mark. The indexer stopped but the message on the Basic Search still appears. I did what you suggested concerning the word "the" but did not observe anything really unusual. So I have uploaded the Log Files.
The logs seem normal to me, except that two operations take much longer than should be expected (Updating Library Index from Resource Manager, and Updating Bible Index from Resource Manager). I don't why why this is, but I'd be interested to know whether it always happens when you start Logos.
Could you therefore (with logging still turned on), re-start Logos, and upload the logs again. But could you also add the following files to the zip:

Peace, Brothers! *smile*
I had (it seems!) exactly the same problem as Bill. The message was always there on Basic Search, even though a lot of indexing had gone on several times.
The indexing had been long and arduous --- and always surprisingingly quit unexpectedly leading one to assume that total indexing had happened.
Finally I just put "rebuild index" in the command box. It seemed to be a much more thorough and complete indexing this time. Now! *smile* All problems and symptoms are gone.

Thanks, Mark. I did what you suggested. But I believe that I am just going to rebuild my index as [:)] SMILE suggested.
