The message below is what I get. Does anyone have any idea what I do to fix it?
I'm operating on Windows 7 Pro with no administrator restrictions of any kind.
Thanks!
Do you have anything open that might use smart tags, MS Word? Close it and try running the installer again.

As far as I know, nothing is on. And I've tried downloading 4.2 SR-1 and it's still crashing with the same message.
Oddly enough, I've also started noticing that some of my icons are now appearing with the little Windows "Administrator" icon on them, even though I didn't change anything on my system.
Does this help? Because now I can even start Logos at all. Sigh. [:P]
You can right-click on the Logos setup file and choose "Run as administrator". However, if you do this, then you'll need to do the same next time Logos wants to install a program update. There's more discussion here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/30573/227098.aspx#227098
That seems to have fixed it, guys, thanks! (Insert Carmen in flannel jammies, doing a combination Happy Dance and Happy Clap, a feat requiring quite a bit of dexterity this early in the morning)
Now, what I'm wondering is whether any of you have any idea how I could go about investigating this new "Run as Administrator" thing when my settings in Windows are that I am the Administrator. Just out of curiosity.
Thanks again, it's great to be back up and running (although I do have Logos on my iPod Touch so I wasn't completely sans aid...
The only thing I can think of would be if UAC has been changed (type UAC into the search box on the start menu, and choose 'User Account Control'). If you've recently installed SP1 for Windows 7, that might explain how any changes occurred.

If UAC was changed it would be to impose a more strict regime of notification of changes but it doesn't affect file permissions already in place that require such notification. So if a program doesn't request/have the appropriate level of authorisation you'll still get a message and then you have to give it via "Run as Administrator". The thread to which Mark refers has information about the reason for this happening in L4 (because it was installed with "Run as Admin"), the need to continue this for updates and a possible quick fix.
