Losing Layout from Homepage search

I'm new to L4....each time I do a new search from the homepage, I totally lose my whole layout. It launches the search window with a totally gray screen...none of the windows I had placed are there anymore and I have to reset it. The past screens don't show up in screenshot either...so there is no way to get it back....frustrating...anyone know what's going on?

Also, is there a way to reset the layout to the default that comes with L4 when you install it? there is not a screenshot of it that I can find.

EDIT: you may also want to look at the wiki page Layouts and in particular the article there How do you save your present work space?

If you save a layout you can easily restore it. You might find it really helpful to watch the Tutorial Videos here (you can skip the 1st one since you already have Logos4 installed).

Thanks for the link...good info. I never messed with the "customize" menu on the home screen though....it just lost the default layout all of the sudden when I did a search. It was working fine, I was working thru tutorials, then did a search from the home screen, hit go, and it went to a gray screen with just the search results. I would love to get the basic default layout back but can't see how to do it...would you suggest reinstalling or is there an easier way?

Don't know what I did....but got the default layout back. Did another search from homepage and it appeared all of the sudden. I'll let you know if I have problems again...thank for the help. I'll keep working thru tutorials...I know I'm probably hitting something wrong
