The Visual Studio 2010 team has found that VS performance can be increased on XP and Vista by installing the Windows Automation API 3.0 update: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ddperf/archive/2010/08/16/visual-studio-2010-runs-faster-when-the-windows-automation-api-3-0-is-installed.aspx
I haven't tested this at all, but since VS2010 is a WPF application, just like Logos 4, Logos 4 may also see a performance boost if it's installed. It sounds like this update has already shipped via automatic updates to Vista users (and is already included in Windows 7), but XP users can still download it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=cd55456d-9703-42a0-b982-8a8a89ca0aa3&displaylang=en
