I've covered this before, but, to anyone who is on the Mac beta channel but would prefer to be on the stable channel, now (i.e. before 4.3 Beta 1 is released) is your opportunity. I covered this back in November, but when we ship an RC to the beta channel, if you have previously set your update channel to beta, and you'd like to go back to stable, you should type "set update channel to default" in the command bar.

Yeah, I'm running the brand new MacBook Pro 15" 2.0GHz Quad-Core with a solid-state Hard Drive with 8GB of RAM and my Logos still runs slow. At this point, after buying a $2000+ machine, I don't feel like I could invest anymore into it to make Logos 4 run faster. I also agree with friar. When I purchased this program over the phone, the guy told me that I'm sure that you will love it. It's the greatest software there is, etc. Now, I will say this: if Logos 4 ran everything it has promised as smoothly as some of its competitors programs, Logos would indeed be the best program out there.

But, I know that the guys at Logos are working hard everyday. They always reply quickly to my frustrations and answer with much love and patience. For that I am very grateful. It is the only reason I have not cashed in on my 30-day money back guarantee. And my guess is that the only reason they released Logos 4 with so many bugs and errors—and incomplete crossover with certain features (i.e. vocabulary module)—is because they were running low on money to finish developing the program.

However, I believe that if you stick with Logos 4 in the long haul, you're going to be glad you did. Kind of like those who invested a lot of money in apple stock back in the late 80s when everyone laughed at them.

So, I'm sorry if this doesn't come across as loving. I try to make it sound that way. But, also, on the other hand, I want to make sure that prospective customers know what they are getting themselves into. They should know that the roads are a little bumpy because they are still under construction.

Joshua Eldridge - "I finally made my purchase, and wowzers! This runs Logos like a champ!!"

I thought it was working well?

Yeah it was for the first day. There are things that made it work faster such as boot up time. It also works well when it comes to searching morphology—that too is quicker. However, some things that I don't see much improvement on is scrolling, linked windows, typing. But, then again, these were features I never tried much on my 2009 macbook. On my new mac, I finally started to use Logos 4 for my daily devotion (which has been a wonderful experience), where I am now using a lot of typing notes, scrolling and linked windows. These are the features that are not smooth, and they lag. Sometimes, it will take up to 6-7 seconds for a word to appear that I've typed. My guess is that these features play more off of the video card. Upgrading that wasn't an option for me. I'm not a computer expert though. But, yes, don't get me wrong, the new MBP does run L4 like a champ compared to my previous '09 macbook.

I too have brand new top of th,e line MacBook Pro. I had more lag time with logos on my 3 year old MBP I just sold. Right now it is not perfect but it runs smoothly... Nothing like your experience. There might be a bad install or other setting wrong on your machine.
