Extremely long indexing?

After the new upgrade my LOGOS started Indexing. This I know is normal. The problem is it ran for 2 day to get to 30%. I installed a new sftware which required re-boot. Index started over. FRI night MS Security essential re-booted for updat...  againg Index reswtarted. 3 days later came Windows update..... get the picture. I know this Dell Notepad is only 1Ghtz w2GB memory... but this is SLOW...   Maybe a resume of indexing could be added?

Thanks

Jeff

Hi Jeff, version 4.2a requires a complete rebuild of the index. From my understanding, this new build will allow all future indexes to complete faster and no need to merge indexes.

I would assume that your computer is having to rebuild the index each time the computer shuts down if it did not complete the previous index rebuild.

That is correct, a restart in the middle of indexing will cause it to lose its place.

Jeff, consider placing the computer in standby or hibernation if you need to reduce its power in the middle of indexing.
