I noticed that my Logos 4 has been indexing almost every day - even after the update of 4.2a - SR2. Is this normal?
No, it should have completed its indexing by now. Have you been shutting down before the indexing completes? This will cause you to lose your place and make Logos start again the next day. Pause it and then enter standby or hibernation if you need to reduce the computer's power.
Do you have any crash messages telling you that the Logos Indexer has stopped working? If so, what you need to do is force the indexer to quit in the Task manager if it's running, Enable Diagnostic Logging ; start Logos so that it starts indexing, let the indexer crash then upload the logs to this thread.
Actually, Kevin, I have not been receiving any crash messages or shutting down before the indexing completes. But I have noticed indexing occurs [as it did this morning] for a while [maybe 5 miniutes this morning].
Oh, you mean it's just for a minute or two?
The indexer is supposed to start up briefly to check if there's anything for it to do. This could be what you're seeing. If you want to know for sure you could enable the permanent logging and look at the log after it does it the next time to see what it did.
