It seems that the beta channel is lagging behind the stable channel. Will there be a beta update soon?

Service Releases are not typically shipped on the beta channel whereas some have been made available on the stable channel since 4.2a shipped. That's why the beta release is lagging behind
It's no indicator as to when a beta release will be made available, and we don't know when that might be!

Following up on Graham's post. When the Service Releases came out, I switched Update Channel to Stable and then back to Beta after the download. That is the only way I know to get SR-2 and remain on the bleeding edge.
