I currently have Logos 4.0 (version 4.21.5.0905) on my desktop computer and would like to put it on the lap top I recently purchased.  I have installed version 3.0 from the discs I have on the lap top.  Is there a way to update the lap top to version 4.0? Oh, and is it OK for me to do that?  I'm the only one using the program.   I would like to thank you in advance for your advice.

    Orlin,

    You (as the registered Logos user) can install Logos on as many devices  as you please...as long as they are for YOU and no one else (family members who live in the home seem ok too according to Logos)

    Just download the latest release SR-2 from the forum here; put in your account info and Logos will do the rest...it will download your books...sync your machines, and index your library.

    Also, you can do the steps below to save some time downloading.

    Here is the link and the directions to a good way to install

    http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4Setup.exe

    This method saves resource downloading and indexing but gets installation files from Logos servers.

    1. Backup the ...\Logos4 folder from a working installation to an external drive
    2. Download and install from http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/Installer/Logos4Setup.exe
      • if you want to install a beta version use the link from the PC Beta forum
      • select Custom installation and uncheck “Automatically Download Updates”
      • change the installation folder (eg. E:\, C:\Users\username) or leave as default.
      • immediately exit the Logos4 Sign-in window after the installation has finished
    3. Copy the following folders from backup to the new installation (first delete any existing folder)
      • \Logos4\Data
      • \Logos4\Documents
      • \Logos4\Users
    4. Start L4 and sign-in
    5. Open some resources. If you get the message “You own this resource, but ... it’s not in your library”:-
      • enter scan <path to backup resources> in the Command box
      • restart L4
      • it will take a few minutes to discover your resources

    Note - the default installation path is:
      XP -> C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4
      Vista/Win7 -> C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Logos4
      (substitute your actual username for username)
