A quick (cheap) way to populate sentence diagrams (standard, block, arcing etc.

In another thread a forum participant indicated that he wanted "canned" diagrams to be available. My first thought was that it would be prohibitively expensive. Then I got an idea - not brillant but at least good. This is a project that everyone could do together.

1) Ask some very competent people (perhaps professors) to be editors

2) Take a group of volunteers and/or students and assign them sentences to diagram (original Greek and Hebrew should have priority) and assign them a few sentences to digram.

3) Encourage the volunteers to find alternative diagrams when the text is ambiguous.

4) Encourage the volunteers to diagram alternative texts when the source text changes the diagram.

5) Have the very competent people review and release the diagrams.

Over time Logos could have an excellent resource at minimum cost.

Doing the same sort of thing on the English could, for example, build up a library of arcing diagrams.

Yes, I know I've not been keen on volunteer based resources before but I think this could really work.

BTW (off-topic item) I REALLY appreciate all your hard work in preserving the files from the newsgroups. I had read that when LOGOS 4.0 comes out the newsgroups will disappear. And your other posts are very interesting too.

This is much more expensive, but if you are looking for well done sentence diagrams of the all the NT books you should look at the Zondervan Exegetical Commentary On the New Testament series, the author's for each book diagram the sentences for each section of Scripture. It is really useful.

I would be very interested in a resource like this. Arcing would be the type of diagram that I would be most interested in. I always thought it would be great if commentary series would have diagrams of all their conclusions. It would be great if there was an arced NT based on the BECNT commentary series. I wonder if Tom Schreiner would be interested in making all his arcs available. It's awesome that ZEC does this. I'd also love it if Piper would make all his arcs available...
