Best practices -- any ideas

I would like to group studies of passages together. Examples: if studying scripture in preparation for Sunday:

If I was using the ISSL commentary from Standard Publishing there are 10 readings during the week
If I was using the RCL with its coordinated weekday readings there are 18 readings during the week
If I were using the Catholic lectionary and associated antiphons there are 8 readings during the week

How would you collect the elements for the week together - in order to see all the notes, PG & EG associated with the week?

MJ - I know that others will have better ideas, but let me get the discussion started with my immediate ideas. Depending on how immediate I wanted the material to be I might use one of following two methods:

If I wanted everything available in LOGOS, I would use create a favorite's folders and sub-folders to organize the material I wanted to have access to. Some of it, I might copy to notes (and link to favorites), others I would just use the link to the material I wanted reference to.
I would use a third party program to copy and paste the material of interest to me. I would use either David Michael's TheJournal or Microsoft's OneNote. Either can store copied material and create links back to LOGOS. They can be sorted by source and include multiple subfolders or documents.

I expect there will be better suggestions coming - but this may get your own creative juices flowing. I would be interested in how you finally choose to organize this material.

As Floyd said, unless you use a third party program, I would think Favorites would be the way to go. You could open the entire folder all at one time, or each resource/ tool individually

I had one more idea after turning off the computer last night. I know that you use MindMapping tools quite a bit. They would help organize the various resources you have. I am currently having fun with Lucid Chart - which allows links back into LOGOS (alas, it opens a blank browser window at the same time it open the LOGOS resource).

Thanks, Fred and Floyd, your ideas were helpful and have headed me in a better direction than I'd had before. I had used a third party knowledge base to connect elements when I used L3 and found that links outside L3 often were not added (i.e. I was not disciplined enough to make it work).

In thinking how to organize Favorites in a way that would not simply duplicate my problems with 3rd party software I tried the obvious - which hadn't occurred to me before. I did a Basic Search with a search string in the format of <Ex 17:3-7>, <Rom 5:1-2>, <Rom 5:5-8>, <John 4:5-42>. This brought up all the elements I'd been trying to organize in the My Content section.

I then realized that this same method would work on the Great I Am's, the Great I Came's, the Seven Last Words ...

So I started to explore how to store and organize the search strings in My Favorites. Initially, I used a Passage List which I put in My Favorites to organize them. Then I realized that I could attach a note to the resource directly and have the note contain the search string. I'm going to post my method eventually.

Thanks for getting me past my block to a decent solution - I've battled this for several months.

MJ, please be aware of a problem with saved search hyperlinks. L4 will not remember which resources were being searched. (see this post: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/23378.aspx )
