Just received this data base and wonder if anybody else has and is using windows 7? I ask because the disk just simply will not open> has anybody got the same problem. Other CDs I have work fine so its not the CD/ DVD player.

Do you use Libronix or L4? In L4 type 'Scan DVD' in the command bar, close Logos and start it again - it will then show 'Preparing Library' and begin to index. After that, the resource should show up in your Library.
In case you're using Libronix - is the CD/DVD player recognizing the disc at all?
