I really like the search capabilities of Logos, but now I
made a search that is almost an A4!
How do you like a Morph search like this?
ἐν
BEFORE 1-2 WORD τῷ BEFORE
1 WORD @V??N BEFORE 1 WORD @R??A OR
ἐν
BEFORE 1-2 WORD τῷ BEFORE
1 WORD @V??N BEFORE 1 WORD @DA OR
ἐν
BEFORE 1-2 WORD τῷ BEFORE
1 WORD @V??N BEFORE 1 WORD @JA OR
ἐν

ἐν

1 WORD @JA BEFORE 1 WORD @V??N
I am just looking for all the occurences of the
construction ἐν τῷ + Inf. Because I wanted to
know which case is used for the word that follows it.
That would not be a difficult thing to do, were it not
that there are several combinations.
Something can be put in between ἐν & τῷ
And the word that follows could be an article with noun
(never just a noun), a pronoun, or an adjective!
But also, this noun / pronoun / (not the adjective) could
also precede the infinitive.
I found out that the accusative is used always. And Luke
really likes this construction. So I learned a lesson.
But I was just wondering if there could be a simpler way
by combining the words. Something like
BEFORE 1 WORD (@R??A OR @DA OR @JA). But this doesn’t
seem to work. Any ideas?
