When you click on the indexing icon in the task bar you get taken to this page to explain indexing....very very nice.

I love it! The page is succinct enough not to frighten anyone. Well done Logos team!
A nice touch. The article itself mentions the merging of indexes. Does this not happen automatically now?

Thanks for reporting this; I've updated the article.
My earlier response was without testing the statement but only in looking at the web page. Yet as of 4.3β1 (4.30.0.0133) I don't see this behavior under windows 7x64 professional.
I click the icon and get only the option to pause indexing for 4 hours.

I noticed this behavior last cycle only the web-page was brought up by clicking the pop-up that alerts you to the indexing when it begins (Win 7 Home)
Yes
I propose this link be added to the right click menu for the tray icon.
