Ok..so why did we want the ribbon smaller?
I was just looking at the homepage and thinking...why did I want the ribbon smaller?
I'm a "screen-real-estate-hog" I want all of the room for the vital info that I can....but I just realized...the ribbon size only affects the homepage articles...
What was i thinking? Duh...

Since I arrived home and have been using my 19" monitor again, I really don't notice the ribbon.
But, on my netbook's 10.1" screen, it takes up a lot of room.

that's what I was saying...the ribbon only affects the homepage articles...e.g. it might shift articles to one new page possibly...
It affects nothing else...right?

I'm half agreeing with you
At home - big screen - not even noticceable.But, on my netbook, it's really obvious and the articles lose a lot of flow and I get NO images (my favourite part).
Living for 5 weeks with just the netbook really shaped the way I interacted with the homepage - my experience on a larger screen is very different.
So.... all that said.... I'd still like an option for removing the ribbon - but, I probably wouldn't exercise that option most of the time.

I've never owned a netbook but I believe I saw one..so I think i understand.
