4.3 Beta 2 - Notes not working

I first ran into this problem after trouble with the first beta of 4.3

After having multiple crashes on layout loading I decided to go for a fresh install. After doing this and waiting for my resources to download over the course of a weekend and then waiting for the library to index I found that I was unable to load up any note files, or create new ones. I also I can't load up any clippings file or create new ones either.

Was hoping that this beta would fix this but sadly it hasn't

Notes had their problems in B1 but they are a WRECK in this beta! Beta 2 is absolutely worthless for me. I now have duplicate notes (indicated by the colored square by the text) and virtually no ability to look at my notes in the note window. I cordially invite a Mac developer to screen share with me so they can see what is happening! Although I know we are dealing with betas and I know improvements have been made, there has been no improvement and in fact, serious regression in the note area. Disappointed!

What do you mean by 'no abiity to look at my notes in the note window'? What are you seeing? Does the Notes document not open, are the notes not expanded? More details and a screenshot would be helpful.

Duplicate notes have been a known issue in Mac and Windows due to synchronization with two computers (2 Macs or 2 PCs or Mac and PC) logged into the same account with the document open on both systems. Is this what you're seeing, or did the notes duplicate without synchronizing to another system? Does the 'Remove Duplicate Notes' command included in Beta 1 remove the duplicates?

This is hard to explain which why I asked if someone could do a "screen share" session with me.

I have in the passage guide window two note files opened. My primary note file is seriously corrupted. The first note now is a huge entry but there is very little note text in it (I hope I am explaining this clearly enough). The other notes are not visible though some become visible when I scroll down the note window. Also, some notes have been duplicated. (none of this seems to occur in the Win version although the duplicates are there).

I'm also having some trouble getting notes to display. I can't tell if the notes are not showing up at all, or if there is just lots of extra white space being thrown in. Some notes display sporadically, but since scrolling in notes is so problematic (and it seems worse than ever at the moment) I can't scroll through to see if notes are there, just separated by white space, or what. But it looks like they are simply not showing up. When I do scroll, some things that were visible are now gone, and other parts are now showing up.

I think some snippets from my console log may be helpful. I get lots of the following when I scroll:

I take it back - I think they are all there, just with lots of white space added in above the note.

Sorry - one more update. It looks like the space is being added to the header/title/whatever field for notes:

What is odd is that this is not always the case. Some note headers display fine, though - to again clarify something I mentioned above - it does look like some notes are missing:

Space is also being added to some of the body fields. It is not just an empty panel, it is the text field itself so if I click in the empty space, it switches it to the active text field for editing:

When deleting the last character of the note and replacing it, I got the impression that the Paragraph After Spacing was set to very high in previous builds and was exposed somehow in display changes in this Beta. This could be related to another problem with the font display in the Passage Analysis window, and the Display of the Map Overlays. But that is just my guess...
