How to search love

I am doing a research on the different kinds of love in the Bible. When I go to the library and search Bible love or God's love, I get nothing. I want to search agape, phileo, eros & storge and understand the differences.

1. Open up a Bible Word Study. (look under the Guide menu)

2. Type "Love" in the box at the top.

3. scroll down to the Greek Bible Word Ring.

4. You will now see the Greek words that have been translated by your favorite translation as "love". Click on the biggest section of the ring.

5.This is the Agape love (the two biggest sections will be the verb form (agapaw) and the noun form (agaph). This will show you every time that greek word is translated love in your favorite translation below the word ring.

6. Now click on the Greek word at the top of the list of references.

7. Now you are looking at a Bible Word Study of that Greek word. Scroll down to the word ring again.

8. Now you are looking at every time that Greek word appears in the Bible, even if it is not translated "love".

9. Once you've studied the information available for that word, repeat steps 4-8 for the other words in the "Love" Bible Word study word ring.

To run a search of "love" in your logos library, first click the "search" icon in the upper left hand corner (red circle).

Second, select "basic" in the search box (green circle).

Third, Make sure the settings are set to "All Text" and "Entire Library" (purple circle).

Fourth, type your search in the "find box" (blue circle) and hit enter or press the arrow (orange circle).

This will give you a lot of results probably. You could narrow your search by trying "God's Love" (include the quotation marks) to search for that specific phrase. Or try love WITHIN 5 words God.

You might also be interested in trying a Bible Word Study. This will give you a great deal of information on the word "love" in the Bible, including the different words that are used in Greek and Hebrew to represent the English word "love". To use the Bible Word Study (BWS), select "Guides" (red circle), then "Bible Word Study" (blue circle), type in "love" and hit enter!

A Basic search in Entire Library for love includes Topic section (reading list plus many Look it up entries) plus lots of results.

I want to search agape, phileo, eros & storge and understand the differences.

Search entry option using greek transliteration:

g:agaph

g:fileo

g:erwv (then opened a passage, right click to do morph search using lemma); learned used 3 times in LXX proverbs

g:storgh (then opened a passage, right click to do morph search using lemma); learned used 4 times in LXX apocrypha

Note: choosing to search my collection with resources that have Logos Greek Morphological tagging after learning more in Lemma searching in TENTGM and TR1550MR
