Who is your favorite Logos salesman?

Saw the post in thanking Logos for taking care of us, and they have. I would like to expand this a little bit on sharing yourexperiances with Logos and who are your favorite salesmen/employees.
Am not writing this to brown nose, never been a brown noser and do not see myself ever being one.
Yet, I think we all should recognize those who help us.
My nominee is David Kaplan. He is a great brother ad helped me a lot. Some might think because you buy a lot for him. This could be true, but do not believe it is.
Overall, in any of my experiances including the technical people who help us Logos-heads get whatever issues worked out. Now, I do not know the names of people in the technical staff, but I would say that I had not one negative or dissatisfying experiance.
Now, I know that this is a business to make money. On the other hand, when dealing with other salesman from time to time with othr businesses, will run into a rude or insulting person.
Take this into consideration, we should have no problem talking good about other Christians. We should also from time to time and give them a word of encouragemnt or a good testimony on how Logos has been a blessing to us.
I might have said this before, but I met a pastor from a Baptist church in the Philippines. He told me he only had one bible. I immidiately gave him mine. I had no more bibles. So I used Logos on my laptop in the pulpit to preach, reading the verses from Logos.
So, from time to time, the Logos line of products are a blessing to have.
Dave Kaplan, you are an awesome brother, so I say thank you and keep up the good workGod bless

Many times he has patiently endured my wierd questions, and researched issues and alternatives for me which most salespeople would have blown off as "not my job".
I've done business with Logos, thru Jared, for years - and have pointed quite a few others to him as well.
Not only is he wlling to go the extra mile - he actually RETURNS phone calls and emails promptly. I even place my (too) many prepub orders thru him - I shoot him an email or leave a message at 1am, and I know he will take care of it without fail, fuss or bother.
My expectations and standards for customer support are pretty high, compared to most people. Jared meets them all.
And, to top it off, his brother Michael is one of Logos' top "techie" experts!
Thanks, Jared, for all the years of assistance you have provided.=============

I would "Sir T"eenly agree with that. As a matter of fact, until this thread started I didn't realize that they had any other salemen. I really should get into the habit of placing my prepub orders through Jared. I found out that they are on commission so it would help them to pay the mortgage and put a hot dog or two on the table. The problem is that they make it so easy to order on site. I see something and think "I want that" -- "click" and the deed is done.

A good Evangelical biblical text Spurgeon and Moody Preached on this text with great conversion result. England & in your case America indeed did see a great light, one of the reason i commend the Evangelical tradition to others.[;)][Y]

Dear Dave,
There are too many Daves here in this post! But I think you are correct, Dave Kaplan is one of the best, kindest, and dearest brothers I have ever known! I can't wait to get to Heaven so we can meet face to face! Logos has a real treasure in that person. Enuff said.

My favorite Logos salesman is http://www.logos.com/
Haven't purchased via phone before, everything on the web. And the website has never once been rude to me, though she could be a little more helpful with my queries. She is patient, she has an overwhelming knowledge of the program and available resources, she is usually available 24/7... she's perfect!
So again, I vote for the Logos website.

Well said, Chris. She is also my Logos salesperson of choice. I can't speak to any human salesperson, as i do not believe I have ever ordered that way.

One thing I learned is that when you form a relationship with a salesperson, they have the ability to adjust most of the prices that appear on the website. Definitely worth the time on the phone.

You know what would work great for all those not in the States (or even those within), is if Logos were to get a Skype account. Then Logos could even take toll free calls from the space station...

I agree that Dave Kaplan has been a pleasure to work with. He has been very helpful.

Well this is definitely a difficult one because Dave Kaplan is defintely a great person to deal with. But, a couple of years ago I hooked up with Jared Bryant and have kept with him. His sending out e-mails occaisionally is a great help as well. I also order all of my pre-pubs through him as well. The one thing I will say as well is that when my wife wants to get me a gift certificate Bryant is always extremely helpful to her. So another vote for Bryant.

Frankly, I’m a bit “peeved” that some seem to be calling a Logos Sales Rep in order to get a better price than list price. Actually, I don’t think that’s quite fair. Retired now, my wife and I depend on our pensions and have to be very careful about how we spend our money. Logos Bible Software is very important to me, and I have spent much (with my wife’s Blessing, of course)! However, I’ve always made – whenever possible – my purchases using the Logos Automated WebSite. This certainly saves Logos a lot of money rather than handling each sale through a human being. Very efficent and well-done!
I do indeed like Jared and all the other wonderful people there at Logos to whom I have spoken over the last number of years (about 17 years now I think!) !!!! Yes, indeed!
Wonderful people! Indeed!
Maybe it’s wise for Logos to put some of them “on commission.” I wouldn’t hazard a guess as to whether or not that’s a good thing.
What would annoy me very, very much is if it were generally true that one can do better on a purchase by speaking live to a human being. That isn’t fair for us whom support Logos and have supported Logos for a long, long time by making our purchases on the Automated WebSite.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. If what you want is "fair" there is nothing to prevent your calling a rep too. Try it, you might like it.

Perhaps I would be more precise in saying that my real annoyment ( Urban Dictionary =the experience of being annoyed. (noun) ) is that such a practice as discounting those who speak to a rep is inefficient and will cost me and all other Logos users more in the long run. That, George, annoys me! You are right, though, I probably would like it! *smile* But, to add to Logos' overhead doesn't seem to be such a good idea.

Most of my purchases I do however by the pre-pub automated web page. It is so easy just to click the button...[:)]

I have to agree, you would be suprised at what a person can do that a computer cannot. If they are rude(which is definetly not the case with most in Logos and dave Kaplan) and saves me a lot of money so I end up buying even more compared to my regular intentions, I say-please be rude.
Again, this was not my experiance with anyone on Logos. They all have been very nice, kind, and knowledgable.

Let me give you a bit of understanding. When you order from the website, no one gets any kind of incentive because no sales rep is credited with a sale. The sales reps do get paid commissions and often, downgrading the price comes fromtheir pockets andtheir paychecks in hoping to form that kind of relationship and buy more in volume. Certainly when I started buying with Logos online, I wishI could have gotten some discounts. \
So please understand the differance, the sales reps do not make any money when you buy through the website. They get exactly 0 because they were not involved.
Surely, when trying to get a hold of Dave Kaplan, at times i have to wait til he is done with another customer or something else. I am most times willing to wait for him to call me back if I leave a message-and he does get back to me that day usually within an hour.
So, really, getting discounts works really hand in hand with what you are buyng, how much you buy(over the years and in every order) and how much money yu make for the salesman. At some point in time, we have to view this as a business. Developing relatinships is one way to keep customers coming back as well as getting some discounted prices. If you choose to bypass and go to the website, understand that none of the salesman make any money so there goes the motivation to give discounts. It is a hand in glove relationship. I buy a lot-because I desire a lot and my friend Dave Kaplan wants me coming back to him because of the amount of stuff I buy. So in a sense this is a mutual relationship where I make him more money and he saves me more money.
To me there is no fait or unfair about it because going through the web does not generat commissions for sales people.

Hey George, That email address would suit Dave Kaplan well since he is a Giant in the field of customer service.[:D]
But since he is as humble as a little shepherd, and effectively slays the high prices, he does his parents proud using this email address: kaplan@logos.com
Drop him a line and see what miracles could take place. (After all, I think God is on his side.)

Folks,
I have probably purchased more books then anyone I know. And I have worked with only one salesman at Logos for over 12 years. I have purchase almost 6,000 books all from David Kaplan. There is NO ONE else that I would ever consider working with at Logos, unless David was to leave or someone.
David has always gone the extra mile for me and takes the best care of my requests. Over ten years he has taken such care that when I was on the west coast I felt the need to visit Washington state to visit Dave at Logos.
David Kaplan is by far the best salesman at Logos, bar none!

David Kaplan has my vote!
To make sure that none of the other fine folks at Logos feel slighted, I also need to say that David is the first and only sales person I have worked with at Logos since the mid 90's. From the very first call to the present, David has patiently answered my questions, listened to my goals, and then pointed me to the resources which are best suited for my needs.
Many, many times I called with a "shopping list" in mind and David found ways to save me money through various packages, special promotions, or by suggesting other resources better suited for my stated purpose.
Over the years I have referred a significant number of people to David and the response has always been the same--David is a man who cares about helping people be better students of God's Word and better stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us.
David, you are DA MAN!
