ESV and LEB/NA27 have different approach to Philippians 2:7-8.

Looking at Philippians 2:7-8, I see that the ESV has the phrase "and being found in human form" at the beginning of verse 8 whereas the LEB has the equivalent phrase "being found in appearance like a man" at the end of verse 7 - which is also consistent with NA27.

Is this just "another versification issue" or does anyone has any insight as to why this decision was taken?

I picked this up when looking at the High-Def Commentary on Philippians which seems to assume the LEB/NA27 rendering at logosres:hidefcom71php;ref=Bible.Php2.5-11;off=1808

PS: NIV (84 and 2011) treat this the same as the ESV

I think it's more of a translation issue.  Many modern scholars think that the phrase belongs with the thought in Phil. 2:8 (see OBrien, below), so my guess is that the translators move the phrase into v.8 to avoid splitting the sentence with a verse number.

"καὶ σχήματι εὑρεθεὶς ὡς ἄνθρωπος. Lit. ‘And being found in form as a human being’. Although a number of exegetes take this clause (v. 7d = v. 8a in English translations) ‘to be closely connected with the preceding participial affirmation’, in our judgment it is better to regard it as dependent on the finite verb ἐταπείνωσεν (‘he humbled’) that immediately follows. The καί links the two finite verbs ἐκένωσεν and ἐταπείνωσεν rather than the two participles γενόμενος and εὑρεθείς. This is not to suggest, however, that there is no relationship between the participial clauses. They are synthetically parallel with the progression of thought—a recapitulation occurring in the next strophe—signified through the contrasting ἀνθρώπων–ἄνθρωπος and γενόμενος–εὑρεθείς."
