Hello,
I would like the ability to have Bible Study over the internet with my family, in real-time using Logos4. Such as mouse movement, video/audio & chat. As well as a media player to view video products Logos publishes.
Thank You.
You can use TeamViewer to present your computer desktop (running Logos) to up to 3 computers for free. Works with Windows and Mac. The participants can be allowed to take control of your mouse if you want them too. In includes chat, audio/video options, file transfer, etc. I use it to access Logos 4 on my laptop via my iPad, to overcome some of the limitations of the Logos ipad app. I also help my family with their computers remotely using TeamViewer. Only requires payment if you use it commercially or for additional features.
Thank You !!
Apple's Mac OS X includes iChat with remote desktop sharing: can switch between live video teleconference and sharing desktop with audio.
Searching internet for web conferencing finds many possibilities. Another search idea is remote desktop.
Keep Smiling [:)]
There is another program which does substantially the same thing called "Go to Meeting" which possibly will host larger groups, but it is not free. I believe the cost is about $49.00/mo. I suppose it partly depends on how many would be in your group. I have no experience with this, but have heard advertisements for it.
Mikogo is another one that I use for doing "remote bible study" and "remote fix relatives computers"...
I thank you for all of your suggestions. Very Helpful! I was just thinking, as big as Logos is getting it should be self sufficient in every way. Like even being able to view your account page, and even shop for more resources from within L4..
Thank You!

As well as able to cook dinner and wash up afterward. [;)]
Are you doubting Logos' growth capacity? I think history shows us in any area of life that if you do not stay fresh enough and well enough ahead eventually someone watching from the sidelines will see your idling and surely pass you up. I'm a little shaky about the fact that Logos has chosen to publish the devils works lately. God has no mercy for such outlandish behavior.
Ex. The Koran, Buddah, Darwins Origin of Species.
If this behavior continues regardless of Logos' size (which the Lord prospered) I fear judgment..
Thanks.

Logos does have the Koran, but it is spelled Quran and comes in both Arabic and English. Buddah is coming -- look at the prepub page or, better yet go here and examine the contents http://www.logos.com/product/9375/the-sacred-books-of-the-east-50-vols. Darwin might raise a few eyebrows, but I have it in MSReader, and I think it's also available for Kindle. Logos used to be strictly for evangelicals (scil. "fundamentalists"), but is gradually becoming broader in its scope.
Exactly, "Broad is the way that leads to destruction..." Sounds like Logos is turning like Billy Graham, "There's a wideness to God's mercy, everyone is serving God whether they know it or not..." he says. He will see different when he dies. I hope Logos corrects itself before their fate turns out like his.

Oh yes, "Give me that ol' time religion ...It was good for Paul and SilasAnd it's good enough for me."
18 You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your ancestors, not with perishable things like silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without defect or blemish. 20 He was destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of the ages for your sake. 21 Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God.
The Holy Bible : New Revised Standard Version, 1 Pet 1.18-21. Nashville: Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1989.
I Apologize. I don't follow..
Hello, I Apologize. I don't follow.. Thanks.
It's not me but Logos and Billy Graham to whom you should apologize. You are dead in your traditions.
He said whether you call Him Buddah or Muhomed or whatever name you choose to use you are serving Christ with your heart. That's Blasphemy. The Bible says, "The love of money is the root of all evil." Maybe logos should recheck their priorities. - Rev. 2:5 Come out of her, my people, That ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Rev 18:4 Maybe logos should change their name to "International Ancient Writing Study Software - Where all religions are Accepted".
If this still does not ring any bells we are done, and I will see you on the day of Truth.

Perhaps you should check your priorities. In Ex 3.14 we find
Logos patrons such as yourself have gone so deep into so called "study" that they have missed the obvious position of the message. be careful what you say. Every word spoken emboldens your perspective, which if wrong will be your own undoing on Judgment Day.

Remember that he is "The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, not the god of the philosophers." He is the one who is free to act and to reveal himself to us in ever new ways. I remind you of Jesus' statement to the authorities, "39 "You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that testify on my behalf." You can know the scriptures yet not understand them.
Oh you mean like...
For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.Mat 13:15 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? (notice this verse stands alone)Mat 15:16 Evil men understand not judgment: But ithey that seek the LORD understand all things. Proverbs 28:5
I temporarily forgot. Darwin's Origin of the Species as well as his Voyage of the Beagle is in the Harvard Classics.
Ok, so it's ok to publish a book mostly responsible for the biggest cult in human history, b/c it is part of a once christian schools classic idol list?

Exactly. You should learn to trust the God who has revealed himself little by little and step by step in the OT leading up to his revelation in Jesus Christ. I get the impression that your god is like Allah of the Moslems who is continually said to be a god of mercy and yet is most unmerciful. In the OT God is spoken of as Elohim, El, El Shaddai and Yahweh. It is not the name which is significant. It is the content which you pour into that name.
Hello, Ok, so it's ok to publish a book mostly responsible for the biggest cult in human history, b/c it is part of a once christian schools classic idol list?
Precisely which would that be?
If the president of this company can read your posts without feeling sick to his spiritual stomach, you will see Logos fall. I promise.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Bye.
Guys....Threads that deal with theology and not the mechanics of Logos software are not allowed per the rules....and this seems like it's getting a little out of hand anyway..no?
Douglas...let me see if I can shed some light on what George alluded to.
Logos is a company that produces software that reads and searches documents...i.e...books...periodicals, Grammars, and Lexicons and such...They provide "digital versions" of existing paper documents...generally speaking.
By producing these electronic versions of existing documents, they aren't endorsing, nor are they cursing any document by it's inclusion, or exclusion...they are simply providing searchable documents that already exist.
I struggled with this idea for quite a while, but came to the conclusion that Logos is not, and cannot be the "theology police"....and we shouldn't be afraid of any document if we know the truth.
Does that make sense?
Hello, If the president of this company can read your posts without feeling sick to his spiritual stomach, you will see Logos fall. I promise. Bye.
I tend to think he would be sick to his stomach over your posts. You seem to advocate a Logos Index of Prohibited Books listing "everything you always wanted to read but weren't permitted." If you haven't read the books, how do you know that they shouldn't be published? And after you, how will the next generation know? That is not a mark of piety, but of ignorance.
lHello
Sorry your no longer publishing truth when it comes to the above mentioned items. Logos chose the its name based on a particular book. When it like anything else in creation deviates from that book, it falls. This is an indirect warning of sorts. The book you were looking for is the above Mentioned origin of Species based on the Zoonomia; or the Laws of Organic Life (1794). This book is only in the imagination but provides the biggest escape from reality known to man. And the company that claims Biblical alliance is dealing "under the table" to both sides. This is not only hypocrisy but now a misleading to many of ignorant truth seeking people that may come by.
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.Mat. 18:6
This will be my last reply to you.
And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. 19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So mightily grew the word of God (the Bible - for the ignorant) and prevailed. Acts 19:18-20
Cheers!
Thank you, Robert! I'm glad you posted! *smile*
Many millions of Christians all over the world are celebrating Jesus Christ's Victory over sin, death, and the devil on this beautiful Easter Day.
Brothers, don't spoil it for others with your diatribing.
Let's all go back to the proper ettiquette of the forums as expressed in the forum guidelines.
You really shouldn't oughta be bugging one another. Douglas - you are becoming angrier by the moment -- George - you seem to enjoy taunting Douglas.
Please, it's been such a wonderful day for me and my family -- and I'm sure to many other Logos Forums Brothers and Sisters.
Please don't continue to irritate us!
Peace and every blessing!
Not angry. Never so much as the feeling. Accurate. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Heb 4:12
The heat you were feeling friend was the Word Of God.
And peace to you Milford.
O day of rest and gladness, O day of joy and light,O balm of care and sadness, most beautiful, most bright:On Thee, the high and lowly, through ages joined in tune,Sing holy, holy, holy, to the great God Triune.
On Thee, at the creation, the light first had its birth; On Thee, for our salvation, Christ rose from depths of earth; On Thee, our Lord, victorious, the Spirit sent from heaven,And thus on Thee, most glorious, a triple light was given.
Bless you, Douglas.
Are you trying to apply heat? Why? What on earth is your motivation to violate the forum guidelines?
It was on the First Easter Day as St. Luke describes it in chapter 24 that the Risen Jesus appeared to the Emmaus disciples - and after His Revealing Himself to them and vanishing from their sight, they said
32 They said to each other, v"Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he wopened to us the Scriptures?"
For me also! That's what warms my heart! Communion with the Risen Lord Jesus!
Douglas, my friend, (I will not address George because he says he is done...)
I am a great fan of the many Creation Scientists that have been published in Logos. I personally take God at His Word and have no problem believing in a 6 Day Creation. If I am in error believing that, God can set me straight in Heaven [A]
I want to point out every Creation Science author I know has read Darwin's works. It is beneficial for equipping of the believer who does Christian Apologetics.. Having these works in the Logos resource library enables us to compare them side by side to the Word of God. We can scrutinize their content, de-bunk their error, and supply God's truth all in parallel columns on the screen.
I think if you pause for a moment and examine how Logos Bible software can help reveal what God says concerning everything we encounter in our daily lives you may find it a good thing rather than bad. Most people studying the Bible for answers already know the world lies to them. And I believe God's truth can prevail over any comparison with the devil's lies.

I appreciate the hymn stanzas - We did not sing that hymn this morning. Too many to choose from! What a fantastic hymnody we have in the Christian Church! And the one you shared -- That's a great Trinitarian Hymn! Indeed
I cannot apply heat. It is not within my power to do so. Speak God's Word in proper perspective and the heat is a response, like a ball and gravity. The discontentment with the beginning waywardness of such a blessing, is grand. If only Logos would refocus on making the Bible study of the book that made them so great more powerful, rather than Broadening the Scope as Mr. Somsel puts it, we would not have the potential of a doing away with. The entire old testament is about a Jealous God that wants a completely faithful bride. Just like a man and his wife. When he sees his wife flirting with others (devils in this case), correction is soon to follow. With this, please do not ask for more, I have said all that needs to be said on my part. Thank You.
Matthew,
Solomon thought the same way and ended up falling very hard. Please read entire post all the way through.
Indeed there are many. Some great and some not so great. Here is one of the oldest hymns in the Church
I did read the whole thread and each post completely and chronologically. I am making the assumption you are referring to Darwin when you cite one work being responsible for the biggest cult in the world. Many would say the Bible has been the foundational religious text for more cults & religions (& wars) throughout history than any other text. Surely you aren't suggesting Logos remove it. There are relatively few atheists in this world and not everyone who believes in a process of evolution would necessarily be condemned to Hell. The "good news" of the resurrection of Christ is the fact we don't have to be perfect to be saved.
Solomon was a sinner. David was too. As are George, You and Me. Edit: And what I am suggesting is different than what Solomon did. I am not courting Darwinism, marrying evolution or spawning little atheists. My genius 10 year old can enumerate what is wrong with string theory, laughs at Darwin and talks way over my head about theoretical physics. Any king that said "I Do." several hundred times can't be all that wise. end of edit.
I would be concerned if Logos resources included books on how to cast spells, or summon spirits. Or if my Logos home page included a a daily horoscope. I grew up as a missionary kid in a culture that worshiped idols, communed with dead spirits and said incantations for protection. An idol to me is nothing more than a rock or wood carving. To some brothers it is a scary, haunting thing. I just recommend those brothers not do their street evangelism near the temple grounds if their conscience is bothered by being too close. I won't condemn evangelists who stand directly in front of the temple gates preaching the gospel
Likewise some Christians have a valid need to study certain resources to prepare themselves to serve God well in whatever He has called them to. Many don't need the practical preaching resources available in Logos. Many don't need the depth of counseling resources available. It can even be disturbing to know of the sexual abuse that goes on in this world. But if you are counseling a situation like that you might need to be aware of it.
I am not concerned for the availability of secular works in Logos format. I am moderately concerned Christians would send their little children into public schools as "missionaries" to save the lost kids while being indoctrinated in Secular Humanism. But I am not about to come in these forums and accuse the parents of evil or desire their swift condemnation. I hope that is not your reason for contention.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.Col. 2:8
All you need is the Bible and the Holy Spirit - "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."1 Jn 2:27
Not the wisdom of this world.
You more warmed up to the world than the Bible, where you would start classifying levels of Worldly OKness - "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
James 4:4
Sincerely,
Douglas
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit
I don't get my Bible doctrine from philosophy, TV or church hierarchies. I subscribe to a newspaper but don't get my doctrine there either.
All you need is the Bible and the Holy Spirit
Yes, but my God gives me so much more than I need. Luke 6:38 , Psalm 23:5 I do not need Logos or even a computer. I don't need air conditioning or a BBQ grill. I enjoy all of this and so much more.
You more warmed up to the world than the Bible
I thank you for your concern. I will go examine myself and make things right with God who is my judge.
.
The luxuries you mention are ok, until they become a distraction.
Douglas,
Please read the guidelines for the forum and adjust your posts accordingly. Some works produced by Logos are used by people interested in the development of apologetics against those positions. Or they may be used by people interested in comparative/missionary studies to make Christianity more understandable to non-Christians. Judgment is the Lord's. We don't have the information to make that judgment.

I am one of those "heretics" that enjoys reading books outside of the Bible, and am glad that Logos offers such books. Frankly, if all you are interested in is a program that displays different Bible translations, then you shouldn't be spending hundreds or thousands on Logos - go to http://biblia.com instead. As for me, I find other works to be illuminating as well as educating. That includes those imperfect and incomplete books that comment on the Bible as well as those intriguing ones that talk about other things in life. Some here have commented that they like the other books because they strengthen their own positions against those books. Me? I'll be so bold as to say I like some of those books because I agree with them. I'm a Christian, but I also believe in evolution. I believe in using reason as a way of interpreting both scripture and life. And I don't believe I shall go to hell because I have those beliefs. For you to say that I will is very offensive to me. You make it sound as if there is only one way to look at the Bible - as if your interpretation is the only correct one. To me, that makes something that is beautiful and complex and full of meaning to be simplified to a point that it becomes ugly and meaningless. To me, that is the true heresy and blasphemy.
And Douglas, since you love throwing out quotes from the Bible as a proof-text to support your views (which, I remind you are themselves limited and imperfect because they are still human views), I'll return the favor:
John 21:25: "Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were writtendown, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for thebooks that would be written."
So Logos, thank you for standing up to your principles of being faithful to the Bible and including more and more books for us to read and study!
this is not true at all.
God gave us Elders in the church, and Teachers. There is no such thing as "just a believer and a bible and the Holy Spirit going solo...." That's not how the church operated from the beginning.
And all the people gathered as one man into the square before the Water Gate. And they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses that the LORD had commanded Israel....they read from the book, from the Law of God, clearly, and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading. Ne 8:1–9.
There is nothing evil about teaching or teachers....we all need them.

Chris, you took the words right out of my mouth. Thanks for posting.
I won't say he "took the words right out of my mouth" since I stated, and fully intend, to speak no further with Douglas, but he did take the words out of my mind since that is very much what I would have said had I intended to speak.

George! Thank you!
I haven't come across Phos Hilaron for many years and did not have the Greek Text! I am grateful!
Peace!

All right Math-You! (looking in the mirror here and talking back to myself with the Festus accent )
Your "Yes" sounds a little hollow in light of Robert's post:
So I think my first answer needs to be restated as such:
God provides for every need of the believer. He does this through many avenues including the Church, the Word, and promptings from His Spirit. But also through wise counsel we are to surround ourselves with, the "foolishness of preaching" ( I Corinthians 1:21 ), Bible software? and even sometimes through wicked unbelievers and talking donkeys. Robert is correct that God expects believers to fellowship within the church for edification.
Thank you for giving me the time to be more precise.
