I have found two things that seem to make a big difference in the scrolling.
First, I noticed that my notes were set to display in my commentaries. I unchecked these items and it seems to have relieved some of the overhead.
Secondly, I have noticed that selecting the option to link to other resources seems to add to the overhead. In fact, if I select that in the Bible Harmonies, it is absolutely murder.
Making these two changes has made a considerable change in the smoothness of the scrolling.
