MP Manuals: buy now or later?

After almost three relatively frustrating years with Logos (having bought version 3 almost three years ago), this geezer has decided it's time to shell out some funds and buy the MP Camp Logos Live DVD's. I've started watching them and think they will be most profitable.

Here are my questions: How valuable are the two MP Logos 4 Manuals ($30 each), say on a scale of 1 (worthless) to 10 (invaluable)? Also, would you recommend having the manuals on-hand to refer to while working through the video or simply wait till I've finished the videos and then have the manuals to explore more deeply than the video may go into a particular subject?

My budget wants me to wait, but I can buy them now if that's best.

Also, it would seem helpful if the syllabus that those attending the live Camps received were to come with the DVD courses.

it is hard to say for your financial situation, but I always had the philosophy to buy something earlier and to get a longer use out of something, rather than buying it later.

Morris' manuals are very detailed. All features and options are described in detail. Videos omit some of the stuff. However, videos also teach you how to apply certain features, maybe a little broader than the manual would. I have gone to Logos Camp1 and Camp 2 and Syllabi for those camps are invaluable in terms of application.

Free option: wiki has Getting Started with Logos page that links to Excellent Unofficial Logos 4 Training Videos by Pastor Mark Barnes, who is also a Forum MVP.

The manuals are very good at least a 9 but if you learn best by reading they maybe a 10. You would not need them to learn from the videos.

However, here is where they really shine, they contain a very good index in the back of each manual, it is very easy to quickly look up and find any topic you need extra help on. The videos give you a great look at how to use Logos product, but it is quicker to find a topic using the manuals.

I base this on L3 camps 1 and 2 videos plus their manuals, and compare them to the Logos 4 manuals, and what I have heard the L4 camp is like.

I bought volume 1 of the manuals and would rate it a 10+ -- well written and organized, and plan to get the second volume soon. I'm using them as I work through the screens. However, I have not seen the DVD videos nor had the luxury of going to Camp. Would appreciate seeing your opinion posted of the DVD's.

Not having attended an actual camp I cannot comment on the "sylabus." But I am curious as to its content (and how extesive it is compared to the Manuals).

MORE SO: (What) are there difference between them?

BUT it has been very helpful having the Manuals to folllow all with the videos.

It shows areas that he emphasizes (this may vary from location to location? or based on attendees responses?)

Sometime the video "brings to life" what is right there in Plain sight"!

I really appreciate having both and now am veryinterested in knowing if Capp 2 will also be erleased in this format.

If I recall correctly from threads I've read, the manuals are much more in-depth than the syllabus, but I think the syllabus goes into a bit more depth than the live presentations or the videos. I may be incorrect, so perhaps someone can throw some light on this.
