    I can't speak for Vista, but Windows removes the last vestiges of 16-bit support (e.g. Win 3.1). As a specific example, the executable for the venerable MS Write program (the predecessor of Wordpad from Win 3.1 days) won't run on Windows 7. For sufficient editions of Windows 7 (e.g. Ultimate), you can get a Windows XP virtual machine to run on it for free (validly licensed and downloaded from Microsoft). That version of Logos may have a chance of running in the VM.

    Wikipedia has article about Windows 3.1# => http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_3.1x that could run 16 bit and 32 bit Windows applications (win32 was new technology).

    Libronix 3.0g (software update from Logos Bible Software Series X v2.0) is usable in Windows 7 (needs Internet Explorer 9 fix) => http://www.logos.com/support/downloads/ldls

    Vincent, if you have an old version of the Logos engine that will only run on older versions of Windows, but what you care most about is that the resources it came with would still be accessible in newer versions of Logos that run on newer versions of Windows, then you can rest assured that they will. You can safely upgrade to a newer version of Logos for free. It might take some communicating with Customer Service to get your resource unlocks to transfer over if it was a pre-3.0 version of Logos you were using for which the setup program no longer will run on a newer version of Windows. But they should have a record that you've got the license for these resources and be able to unlock them for you on their servers. It would be a good idea to keep the CD case(s) with the serial number on it just in case. In some situations (if you never synchronized your licenses from within an old version of Logos after installing the resource, and then lost that installation of Logos due to a hardware crash), you might need to read the serial number over the phone to Customer Service to prove to them that you're the legitimate owner.
