BUG: How is this useful to me?

Yes, those are my highest prioritized Bibles, but they're obviously not very helpful if I'm searching for an English word... If I search for a Greek or Hebrew word, I don't get Swedish Bibles, I get Greek or Hebrew Bibles. So if I search for an English word, I ought to get English Bibles, right?

In fact, I don't think I can even do a BWS in Swedish, which makes this even more ridiculous. There is no possible instance when these Bibles can be of use to me here.

Please switch to the highest prioritized English Bibles.

You can run a BWS on a Swedish word, but results will be limited to the Textual Searches section, as there isn't a reverse interlinear version of a Swedish Bible in Logos 4. When I tried this, the first result in that section was from "Bibel-82," which was not prioritized in my Library, and it had several hits. The other four were my top English Bibles with 0 results. It would seem that if a search on a Swedish word brings up a non-prioritized Swedish Bible, that the program should be able to bring up English Bibles for a search on an English word.

How did you manage to do that? I tried before the OP, and I tried again now, but all that happens to me is that the reference box reverts to the closest English word. I even tried putting s: or swedish: before the word, but it didn't make any difference. Did you use the Swedish interface? (I still use the English.)

I opened "Bibel-82," right-clicked on a word, and chose "Bible Word Study" from the menu.

Ah! I never tried that way [:$]; only by writing directly in the BWS reference box. Maybe they haven't bothered to implement that for Swedish yet -- which is fine with me, considering that it's pretty meaningless to do a BWS in Swedish at present. I just got curious when you said you'd done something I hadn't managed to do.

To follow up on my comment that "it would seem that if a search on a Swedish word brings up a non-prioritized Swedish Bible, that the program should be able to bring up English Bibles for a search on an English word," it is able to do that because we are right-clicking in the Swedish Bible, and so it lists that resource at the top of the list. It can do the same if you right-click in an English Bible.

As far I can tell, the BWS entry box is limited to English words found in English Bibles (i.e., other English words are rejected). This restriction is pointless and should be removed, since BWS can actually be run on any word if you can find it in a resource to right-click on it. I consider it a bug, though it was probably a design decision at some point. It occurs on both Mac and PC.

Of course, Greek and Hebrew can be used too, but I think it limits those languages to Bible words also.

You're right. I do get one English Bible that way. It's just that I hardly ever (or rather never) do word studies from the right click menu -- partly because I seldom have an English Bible open. And we've already established that doing a BWS from a Swedish Bible is pretty meaningless. So I generally just open BWS and type the word in manually. Which results in what you saw in the screen shot. And in any case I'd want 5 English Bibles, not 1 English and 4 Swedish.

Any news on this? I've waited 16 months since the report, and close to two years in real life. It would be nice to finally be able to use BWS in a meaningful way.
