How can I force a link update only when I want it (rather than constant link synchronization)?

I primarily use Logos for Bible reading. And as I'm moving through the text I don't want my computer busy trying to keep all of my open, linked resources in sync. So I assign link set A to the Bible and a couple of more frequently used resources. Then I assign link set C to a panel with all my my preferred and applicable commentaries.

From time to time I will be reading a verse or passage where I would like to quickly see what one or more of the commentaries have to say. But they are not synchronized with my Bible. I know I can copy/paste the Bible reference from my Bible pane into one of the commentary panes.

It would be nice if there was a menu option or better yet a button that would force synchronization with other or all other open panels. So here I am reading along and I come across an interesting or difficult passage or something I want to explore. All my commentaries are open, but not in sync. I hit this button and they all instantly jump to that verse.

Another option could be to have a Linked Set (or an option on a linked set) where I control when the "syncing" happens (with a button) rather than the system working to keep everything sync'd all the time.

Am I missing something?

(I am using the latest version of L4 on the Mac.)

Hi Dan, unfortunately there isn't something that does what you're asking about. You've pointed out that you could accomplish it by copying/pasting the Bible reference but that's the only way currently to make it work.

You could submit this as a suggestion in the Suggestions forum or on UserVoice (the latter is better if you think you can drum up interest in this feature among other users via a forum thread and get them to vote for the suggestion over there -- the more votes, the more likely Logos will be to take the suggestion into account in their future planning).

One option: prioritize a one volume commentary (e.g. ESV Study Bible) in Top 5 Bibles. Open one volume commentary and include in link set C. When want to update link set C, can right click in a Bible, click selection, then click one volume commentary (from Top 5 Bibles). Screen Capture done after clicking "The ESV Study Bible" to change verse reference, which also updated other link set C multi-volume commentary series:

Another option: could add a Bible to link set C with send HyperLinks here. When reading Bible, right click, then click selection, then click Open (to send selection to Hyperlink, which causes all link set C references to change). For screen capture, opened a Bible, added to link set C along with choosing send Hyperlinks here, and closed one volume commentary. Typed reference in ESV, then right clicked verse #, followed by Open to change link set C. Then repeated right click on verse # in ESV for screen capture:

Is your entire Bible marked up this way? If so what filters are you using?

Initial display of English Reverse Interlinear New Testament, Greek New Testament, or LXX takes few seconds longer for my Logos Greek Morphology filters to be applied (can click three circles and uncheck when desired). The visual filters show grammatical usage; also can be combined so one word may have several highlights (e.g. nominative and accusative cases for a neuter word whose case usage is determined by context).

Is your entire Bible marked up this way? If so what filters are you using?
