(Logos 4) Highlighter mode.

Hi Bob et al.

I'd like to suggest that Logos 4 be given a 'highlighter mode' - that is, that rather than having to click a section of text and then press control-K or click on the highlighting you want, you be able to double-click on a highlighter and then have that highlighting apply to any text you select thereafter (perhaps until you click a "Stop highlighting" button in the Highlighting pane).

Thanks for all your work! I'm getting to like Logos 4 more all the time!

The big question, if I recall, was about using different Modes, or if this would be too confusing.

Correct. To go into a highlighter mode introduces a modal setting that would have to be cancled to do anything else. To get an idea hit F8 to activate the screen markup, and then try to imagine quick clicking to do something else... It's horrible .

Happened to me earlier. I much prefer highlighting manually and hitting CTRL-K.

I don't know that it needs to be modal in the same way that drawing mode is.

The only thing it needs to affect is what happens when you highlight a piece of text. Scrolling, interaction with menus and so on could all carry on like normal.

It could be made per document (and that would probably make more sense)... just add a highlighter button like word processors have to each document?

I'm thinking a right-click menu option would be very nice.
