Sharing resources between Logos 4 (Mac) and Logos 4 (Win) on Parallels

I installed the Logos 4 Alpha Release for Mac and my resources are still downloading (30% so far). I also want to Install the windows version using parallels so I can have the full experience while the Mac version is being improved.

Is it possible for the Windows version on Parallels to use the resources on the OS X side so I don't have to double download the resources and use 2x the disk space?

Based on what I learned in the WinBeta experience, the answer is No. That is why I uninstalled L4 for windows, removed VMWare, and now am just going to do v4 for Mac and run 1.0 for now. Sad, but my only real option :-(

Hi Jack,

This should be the case in a month or so. The mac version is in alpha and will be updated every two weeks until completed. I am disappointed that the same database cannot be used for both, but it should not matter in a few months.. hopefully.

The mac alpha will download your resources for Logos 4 and leave your current resources and set up intact, so you can try things out without losing any current capabilities. There is now indexing to speed up searching, but be prepared to let it run for many hours. I think it will be worth the wait.

The good news is that soon you won't need Logos for windows at all and can run native on Mac with the same capabilities.

That will be a happy day! Then, if only Intuit would provide a Mac version of Turbo Tax for Corporations, I could ditch Fusion completely.

Disk space you can't really help, but you can prevent from double downloading.

Once installed in OSX, copy the resources directory (I'm not sure of the install path for mac) to somewhere your copy of Windows can read from, run Logos 4 in your virtual windows and type "scan path" in the command bar, with the path to the resources. This will copy them across and prevent the need to double download.

Can this be done the other direction. My PC is currently downloading 37% of 7.8 gig. When complete, can I burn these to a disk or copy them to the Mac manually and not have to go through the download again?

After 6 + weeks of Beta testing on the Windows version, I am skipping the Windows 4.0 and waiting for the Mac 4.0. That was my plan from the start. I knew that all my input would influence the Mac version, so I figure it was time well spent. Now I will do it all over again for the Mac.

So, for me, I will wait it out and help where I can.

I hope so does anyone have any info on doing this from windows to Mac as my windows download is done but my Mac one doesnt even want to download a thing for some reason

It is the Corporate application that is Windows only. All other TurboTax versions are cross-platform.
