Indexing has encountered a problem

"Logos Bible software 4 Indexer has encountered a problem and needs to close."

This pops up now every time I open L4. If I leave the message open, Logos seems to be downloading updates. If I close the message, the icon at the bottom right corner of the computer disappears and L4 comes up.

What do I do?

Mark,

Just to be sure, how much hard drive space do you have left after installation? the index files are rather large and not having enough room for them can be a cause for your problem.

I too am having the same problem. It was running fine and then I bluescreened.

Now, nothing. I have 169 GB free, so I don't think it is a hard drive problem!

I received this message once - after I'd moved a number of resources to "hidden". After I accepted the update for today, everything worked fine. I don't know that is what resolved the problem but its worth a thought.

I think I found a fix...

I had this same problem when my installation crashed during download on my netbook. After unsuccessful attempts to uninstall and reinstall the program (the same problem would appear) I noticed that the Logos 4 directory was not completely removed during a uninstall. I simply deleted c:\Documents and Seetings\<my username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos 4 and downloaded/reinstalled Logos 4 as normal. My download is now progressing normally.
