Greetings all,

     I have a question about the cloud...please be patient with my thinking...the cloud keeps our latest layouts for us and all the other information correct?  I have a back up spare hard drive that I use for a master reboot (reformat) in case the main hard drive crashes.  I can make an exact copy to the hard drive that I reformat.  I occassionally run all the updates on the backup hard drive so that I dont have to do it all later when I reformat.  The cloud which is supposed to have and use my latest layouts does not show on the back up hard drive but has all the old layouts available that are on the backup hard drive...I have not put the master hard drive back online yet to test to see if those layouts stay with the main hard drive.  So does not keep what is stored or goes by what it is recieveing from my computer?  Just curious how this works...thanks for your input!

Not sure I fully understand your question, but I'll give it a go.

'The cloud' refers to storing information dynamically in a network location and made available to you from there any time you want to access it. It could be used for collaborative efforts, but in Logos4 (so far) cloud access is limited to the account that generated the material.

In Logos4 'the cloud' functions as a way to keep the latest copy of your user generated material (e.g., saved layouts), and make it available to your other computers (if any), when they connect to your user account via 'the cloud.' This information is also stored locally, so that you don't have to be connected to save that information.

Copy/pasting that info from one installation to another is not recommended and may not even work, as you may be discovering. (I don't know enough about how this works to say definitively if it can work or not.)

If you were to loose your main installation and then run Logos4 from your back-up drive, upon connecting your backup drive to the internet the saved layouts (etc.) would download and show up in your back-up drive. Additionally, if you did some work in your back-up drive while your newer one was in the shop, and then your newer drive was reinstalled, anything you saved from your back-up (assuming you signed in with the same user ID and connected to the internet) would be available to your previous installation on your newer drive. The same works for having a desktop and laptop computer, and going back and forth between them.
