Logos Mac Software

I really hope that they do some better software updates. I really like the idea for this software...but it is unacceptably slow for the price I paid.. I know there is a lot of information, but I even have an iMac 27" i5 Core with 4 GB of RAM and it's slow at times. Also, there are a number of things that just don't work like they should. Things that I should be able to do naturally it's frustrating. I think the idea of it working together well, is there, but it's just like it hasn't been finely tuned like it should.
For example in my passage list, there is not way to put the passages in the order that I want them. I can look them up in a certain order and they put them in that order, but once I click on the "order" button it puts it in chronological order...I can't change it.This I should be able to naturally do by just dragging the passages in whatever order I want.
The syncing also doesn't work like it should. I should be able to see my last layout from my other computer, but when I looked at my computer once, it's like it lost the last couple days or something. The syncing needs work.
Also my iPhone app doesn't have books marks. It has favorites...but not bookmarks...to me they should be different and the bookmarks I put in the program should be the same as my phone.
The software shows my commentaries, but how do I set the top five commentaries that always show...to the commentaries I want.
The search tool is not that good. It may search words...but it can't really search concepts or ideas. So if I'm trying to find a scripture on a certain topic...and I search that topic...it can't find the verse because the search is so focused on the word itself that it missed the topic or concept I want it to search.
There might be some solutions to these questions...I'm not sure. But what I'm getting at...is that the idea that there reaching for in this software is a good one, but it falls short in quality, especially for the price that I paid. I'm not sure where to show my frustration....it's just when I move my mouse to do something that should be quite natural to so....it doesn't respond. I think that more user input needs to be considered in this.

Oh, and why on earth does the iPhone app NOT have highlighting...that is just strange.
The Kindle app and the YouVersion app are a lot better in some respects to the point that I would rather use YouVersion over Logos. I should be able to dynamically change versions in Logos, but I can't. Also the little scroller thing to switch books is really bad. I'll use my figure to move to another book...and almost everytime when I let go....it doesn't land on the book that I thought I selected.
Another thing, in my passage list...I can change versions for the scriptures...but when I roll over them or click on them...it won't use the version I selected...it insists on using the NLT....it should be able to use the one that I selected for that particular passage list.

Personally looking forward to Logos 4 Mac improvements. Wiki has Logos 4 Beta Program page with information and risks; if history repeats, Logos 4.3 Beta 5 should be released this week for Mac & PC.

Wiki page Mac and PC User Interface Differences => Feature Parity section includes: "PC Passage List has drag and drop option to change verse order plus compact view to show verse references without text along with ability to insert Heading, Mac lacks drap and drop, always displays full view and lacks Insert Heading"

Currently Logos 4 on Mac & PC sync named layouts, which works good. Logos 4 does not sync "Snapshot " layouts (if change name, then layout sync's).

Suggest posting "Book Marks ?" with feature desires => iPhone/iPad forum.

Highlighting and Notes are on "To Do" list for Logos iOS application. Syncing speed via Logos servers between Logos 4 on Mac/PC and mobile devices needs to improve dramatically before highlighting and notes are available on mobile devices. Currently, reading plan location sync between an iOS device and Logos 4 on Mac/PC can take hours.

Suggest using advanced prioritization (right click on resource, then choose settings). For example, verse references in my Logos Library for "The NET Bible" and "The NET Bible First Edition Notes" pop-up with "NET: The NET Bible" text:

Please start a post "Search Topic or Concept" with example topic or concept frustration(s), which would allow many helpful Logos users to replicate and offer suggestions.

Wiki page Mac Troubleshooting => How to Report Bugs in Logos 4 Mac section has log posting steps, please post "Mouse Movements" => Logos 4 Mac forum describing mouse movement experiences and expectations. Posting screen shot(s) would help Logos users and developers see desired mouse interaction.
By the way, wiki page Logos 4 Mac => What to Expect section includes: "Three Logos 4 Mac menus do not follow historic Mac conventions: File, Guides, and Layouts - recommend quick click to display menu (may take seconds to display), then can right OR left click on menu items."
