can i install from dvd?

I just installed logos 4 on the pc, and i haven't had a previous version on this computer. Is there a way to install most of the resources from my older logos dvd, instead of downloading everything over the internet? That's going to take forever. There should be a way I can get these resources from this dvd to my windows version of logos 4...any ideas?

That doesn't say anything about the installing from the dvd...many of the resources in version 4 are included on the disk 3 dvd, but they are locked.

Others seems to have been able to use the dvd to get resources to logos 4 without having to download everything.

Rick, I'm guessing you downloaded the free software and have no resources downloaded. Have you started L4 and Signed In with your Logos account name and password?

Anyway, to use the v3 DVD enter scan <DVD drive> into the command bar. Close and restart L4.

No, I upgraded from the scholars Gold (which is installed on my mac) , to the Scholars Platinum. - which I am wanting to install on a pc.

Hi Rick,

If anyone can help you make the older stuff work, it's Dave.

However, my understanding is that L4 needs its own NEW file format, to take advantage of all its new features. In other words, there's no way around downloading the new files or ordering a new disk. Your pick. The good news is that once you're up on L4, incremental downloads from then on to keep you in sync with their stuff in the cloud aren't too big.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you want to do, but if I've correctly inferred that you just want to use the old file format, I think you're going to be disappointed.

They changed file formats so they could index... and make your searches lightning fast.
