    Larry,

As far as I know, not directly but you should be able to get them into Logos 4 via Libronix (aka Logos 3).

If you already have Libronix on your computer, then it is pretty straightforward.

    1. Download and install the book(s) into Libronix.
    2. Synchronise your licences in Libronix, using Tools|Library Management|Synchronise Licences.
    3. Open Logos 4 and allow it to synchronise automatically.
    4. Then it should download and install the book(s) in Logos 4.

    Notes:

    1. If you don't have Libronix on your computer you can download it free from Logos here.
    2. This will not work for PBB books, as they are not available yet in Logos 4.

    Every blessing

    Alan

Thanks for the replies - Now another question what are PBB books. I noted a few as well that I am interested.

PBB books are those created with the Personal Book Builder tool, which exists for Logos 3 / Libronix, but the new version of it for Logos 4 is still under development. We are expecting it sometime soon, at least a beta version. For now you will not be able to read old PBB books that were generated for L3 into L4. However you can still run L3 concurrently with L4 on the same machine, so you could read them there for now. There is not going to be a direct conversion offered from the compiled PBB books into L4's new PBB format (which will be native Logos book format), but rather the authors who created those PBB books will need to recompile them from the original sources (Word documents) into the new L4 PBB format. So some books whose authors have lost interest in supporting them for the future might not be available for L4 ever.

    There's a repository of L3 PBB files on http://www.stilltruth.com/page/libronix_pbb_files

    Rosie,

Thanks for that information. I have Scholars Base Edition. Do I need Silver to do this in the future.

See clip from the "Truth is still Truth" main page:

The reading key is free and is available only to users who own one of the boxed products (e.g. Scholar's Library: Silver, Scholar's Library, Original Languages Library, Leaders Library, Bible Study Library, Christian Home Library, Or The Spanish Library.) This key is included with the Personal Book Builder and has been included in boxed Logos Bible Software collections since the QB release

    Rosie,

I am primarily a MAC user. Should I further assume the Libronix is a window only program?

Also will my Mac license suffice to freely download Libronix?

I'm a Mac user, too. You can freely download the Logos for Mac 1.

    It runs Libronix reources.

You can get a free download here.

If you have Parallels or similar, you can run the Windows Libronix for free there. Or if you have a PC you can freely use Libronix on it.

    Alan,

What would you reccomend, I have parallesl? Is the Free Mac Version or the Windows version perferred in terms of functionality or stability for the purpose of Libronix and PPB file reading?

    Thanks

True, but I don't think it runs PBBs, does it? I thought it was a very basic program.

    Larry,

The easiest way to get Libronix resources into L4Mac is to simply call Logos and give them the serial number. They'll unlock it for you, and then it'll download automatically into L4.

Yes. "Libronix" is a slick trade name that was used for the Logos 3 engine (for Windows). They've dropped that name for Logos 4. I don't know whether Logos 1 Mac was ever called Libronix. Libronix files were a particular binary file format (.lbxlls was the file extension) that Logos 3 ("Libronix") and Logos 1 Mac could open.

PBB files are user-created files, mostly public domain books that volunteers have turned into Logos-readable files using Personal Book Builder. The file format for PBB files was different from Libronix resources, however Libronix was able to open them both.

    Hope that's clearer.

Logos for Mac 1.2.2 downloadable disk image has an application "Libronix DLS"

Libronix 3 for Windows has many more features than Logos for Mac 1.2.2

Wiki page Logos 4 Mac => Need Logos 4 PC feature? section includes Windows virtualization and native boot options.

Have used Libronix 3 in a Windows virtual machine to enter serial # from Libronix CD's, then sync licenses, switch to Logos 4 Mac, followed by Update Resources command.  Thankful more resources now usable in Logos 4.2b on Mac.

    Keep Smiling [:)]
