I recently replaced a (very) old PC on which I used NEBRL, (the wfw3.11 / 95 version).  The new PC I have is running Windows 7, and I am unable to install NEBRL on this PC due the libronix version (2.1) not being able to run on Windows 7.

Is there anyway I can import the books on the CD's of NEBRL into a newer version of libronix that is available to download, and compatible with Windows 7.

Thanks

Richard

    Richard,

In this configuration you may need a backup of your licenses - if you have that than it get's really easy: if you don't it may be more difficult.

You have two options: You can install L3 (Libronix / Logos 3) and use your license disk to import your licenses into Logos 3 during the install process.  (You'll get a dialog asking if you're a new user or if you have a license...)

After installing L3, if you want to install L4 - just make sure you use the tools> Synchronize licenses feature in L3 first.  When you install L4 your licenses will be automatically synced and your books download automatically.

Since you're using Windows 7, I'm assuming your new PC can handle L4 just fine, I suggest you install Logos 4 (http://www.Logos.com/4ways )

You may have to contact customer service to help getting your L2 license file into L4 - but once you do it will all be golden.

I'm sure I've created some questions.... so what can we clarify?

Hmm Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

I know this is old and it wasn't my question, but I'm in  similar situation and getting nowhere with it.  I'm in Australia so I can't just ring support, and I'm rather unclear about the Logos/Nelson/Libronix relationship.

I have Nelson's Electronic Bible Reference (packaging) which calls itself Logos Library System 2.1.  Built for Windows 95 I have been running it on Windows XP.  Now I need it on Vista and it won't install.

I cannot find any way to get a license backup of any kind.  So Richard, you said it would be more difficult but didn't elaborate.  Is there a way I can proceed?  Hoping ...

I would email customer services. I had a similar problem last year, which was easily sorted. They asked me to email them a picture of my CD as proof of purchase. The resources were then quickly activated in my Logos 4 account.

    Wayne,

As far as I know (AFAIK) there is no license backup feature in L2.1  However....

You can backup the files with the directions on this page: http://www.logos.com/ArticleViewer/234

To update with that new computer, you can either go through the L2.1  → L3  → L4 upgrade path (L3 is the one with the backup licenses tool)  Or you can follow Jonathan's advice - email Customer service cs@logos.com

There are more L2 articles here: http://www.logos.com/support/llsarticles
