I printed off 74 pages of an ABD article, and the resulting PDF file was almost 5 Mb. It's just text, so why is the file so large?
A 5MB PDF is not large. If you have acrobat, you can reduce the file size, however. Each page of a PDF is like a photo, and a good quality copy will be large.

Ok, but if I export it to word and then convert to PDF, the same text comes in at 438kb. That's a 10x fold difference, and I don't see it reflected in the text quality.
My bad... that does seem large. It is ONLY text?
I don't have the ABD, so I tried it out on a commentary with similar results. My best guess is that the first method is including more formatting in the PDF file.
