May I suggest that now you have Lion you install a new version of Logos.
This is a release candidate but is much better on the Mac.
Please allow any downloads and indexing to complete before starting to use Logos and definitely before you start forming an opinion about its performance.

Apologies: as a Logos user with Many Volunteer Posts (MVP), have no estimate for a Logos 4 Mac version that feels snappy (instant menus and quick launch) and really just works; since menu usage happens more often than launching Logos 4 Mac, would appreciate menu responsiveness improvement first. Thankful for many, many Logos 4 Mac improvements (quite usable); looking forward to better future releases.

This is for all mac users running OS X Lion 10.7: I recently (3 days ago) installed Lion. It felt slow when I signed in and slow when I ran programs. After signing in, it took noticeably longer for Lion to load up. I have been disappointed with how slow things felt. Logos at times seemed to perform faster (usually when I did not have much of anything running and when I had few books open). But recently it has been freezing, and I would have to wait a while for it to stop freezing.
Well, last night, I decided that I should open Disk Utility and click Verify Disk Permission. It ran for about 30 minutes the first time. (For those of you who are not sure how to find it, the easiest way it to hit Command + Space bar, which opens up Spotlight at the top of the screen, and type "Disk Utility." [It should find it with just "disk."] Then hit enter. It will open right up). For those of you who have never run Verify Disk Permissions, it is a good thing to do periodically (once a week at most would be sufficient). When Disk Utility opens, you click on your hard drive (usually named "Macintosh HD" unless you renamed it) and make sure the tab "First Aid" is clicked, and then tell it to Verify Disk Permissions. Once it tells you that it is done, click "Repair Disk Permissions." I ran that TWICE last night. Then I restarted my whole computer (after it finished of course), and Lion loaded to the sign on screen faster, it responded to typing my password in faster, it loaded the main screen faster, Logos, Firefox, and Mail all loaded much faster. I have yet to see anything slow. So, if you are having issues with Logos on Lion running buggy or slow or freezing a lot, try repairing the Disk Permissions as I showed above (if you want to see screen shots, I am sure you can google "repair disk permissions" and you should be able to find a site that walks you through the process). Repairing disk permissions could help out a lot, and Lion itself could run better and faster. Obviously, other bugs and crashes of Logos will have to be dealt with by the Logos development team. If it helps and if you want to let me know that it did, feel free to let me know.

I haven't had any issues with Lion. On my MBP, Lion performs better (faster boot-up, applications are loading faster, higher benchmark scores) than Snow Leopard. I didn't have any issue with Logos 4.2b SR-2 on Lion. I'm know running 4.3 SR-3. SR-1 had some issues with Lion that were corrected SR-2. 4.3 is performing faster than 4.2b.
Thus far I've been very pleased with Lion.

My dad said that someone he read says that anytime there is a major update to his system or to any programs on his Mac, and especially after a major upgrade of the OS, he will run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. So I am glad you mentioned that Otto. So, for any Mac user out there, at least run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions....twice....then restart your computer.
