OFF TOPIC: Help with Hebrew font on iPad Sentence Diagram tool

I am writing an app to do Sentence Diagrams and am having problems with Hebrew fonts.

When I paste Hebrew from Logos to Pages (iOS) it displays ok.

When I paste into my app I get boxes instead of some characters. I think it's to do with unicode encoding, but I don't understand what I need to do about it.

Any coders out there got any ideas, I'd be very grateful.
